New XLR Viper TT

Just noticed that for 2013 XLR has redesigned their travel trailer toy hauler line. They now offer only 2 models.

These are a big change from previous models!

Those TTs are so long & heavy, what vehicle will be able to tow them around? I've met several folks with extremely long TTs that just park them full time. One guy up near Chicago had the dealer bring his TT in and park it. The TT has never moved since!

Not sure about the Dodges and GMs, but the newer Fords have class 5 factory tow rating of 12,000. They bumped it up from 10,000 a few years ago. Not sure when, but I think my 08 F350 is 12000 on conventional towing. Those specs list GVWR under 12000, so if it's loaded it's gonna be close, but still within rating.

When you look at the GVWR there isn't alot room left for cargo, but this a huge bumper pull trailer! A person almost needs a DRW if they want to be confident for the tow rating.

Nice trailer....

I am surprised that they went this big with a toy hauler travel trailer. If you are going this large, I would think most people would go with a fifth wheel trailer. Our 2012 unit is 30' long and was the only one we could find with a slide and a layout where you lived in the whole trailer.

I plan on ordering the XLR with the 12ft garage, while it is on the longer side, it shows it weighting in at well under 10,000lbs. With a good weight distributing hitch I would think I would be ok with a single rear wheel truck?
