Newbie question about fuel tank

We tried filling our fuel tank for the first time and the gas station pump kept turning off. When filling the fuel tank dose the pump need to be turned on at the main panel or at the fueling station? Is there any other reason we would be unable to put fuel in the tank? This is a new Nitro 28KW we are trying to fill for the first time.
Thank you for your help.

Turn the nozzle sideways the fill neck is almost flat so it doesn't run down hill like a care sometimes the breather will fill up with fuel making it difficult to fill

Yep, Another fine design by FR! As already stated, the fill hose is almost flat and level with the top of the tank. Even when trying to add fuel from a gas can it pours out side and all down the skirting. I finally used a long hose and a funnel. Another case of the design personnel never using these fine TH's. IMO I might add!

I also have a slow fill motorhome and with most pumps setting the gasoline handle will just make it click off or shutdown. Holding it by hand on a slow feed is tiring and even difficult at some stations to keep it slow enough.

But I have the fix!

My pen knife is flat sided and is exactly .450 of an inch thick. I slide the knife under the pump handle to keep it open and it feeds slowly. Doing this is completely safe as the gasoline pump handle will always still shut down when filled. No reason to worry just get yourself slightly less than a inch (or .450) piece of wood and give it a try.

Some brands do raise the filler neck, but then you have a box built in to the garage for it taking up floor space. So it's give and take I guess...

I took one of the tanks out of our 380 Amp.
We had so much trouble with filling and using from it .....
We had same problems as others.
After removal noticed that both fuel tanks are as low as possible while still within frame. Noticed that there was at least 6 or more inches of open space above tanks. I also noticed that, yes, the fill tube is essentially at the same level as the tank, even though it could be 4 or more inches higher up.
The other thing that effects functionality is how shallow the tanks are.... they are only about six inches deep while the length is the space between the frame rails.
Any side to side tilt of the trailer will cause fill problems and draw out problems.
I don't know if you call this poor engineering or poor construction.
