I took one of the tanks out of our 380 Amp.
We had so much trouble with filling and using from it .....
We had same problems as others.
After removal noticed that both fuel tanks are as low as possible while still within frame. Noticed that there was at least 6 or more inches of open space above tanks. I also noticed that, yes, the fill tube is essentially at the same level as the tank, even though it could be 4 or more inches higher up.
The other thing that effects functionality is how shallow the tanks are.... they are only about six inches deep while the length is the space between the frame rails.
Any side to side tilt of the trailer will cause fill problems and draw out problems.
I don't know if you call this poor engineering or poor construction.
