Night Shades ? Who wins?
The question is : Up, down or doesn't matter when traveling? We have night shades in our TH. My DW said the dealer told her that they should be always in the down position when traveling. I don't see where it matters.
What's your thoughts on this?

I always keep nightshades down except when camping during the day. It helps decrease sunfade on the interior.

The main reason I think is to reduce the tension on the strings and keep them from sliding down crooked.

I don't have white leather. I have greenish grayish colored cloth recliners and a beige cloth sofa as well as grey/silver trim.

If you have the longish, ceiling to floor, garden style windows, pull the shades up. When they're down and flopping back and forth while traveling, they'll cut through the cords. The shorter blinds do not suffer this malady.

White leather (man made, simulated, artificial) fades to "cracked"
I travel with shades down to keep trailer cooler in summer.

DW wins always even if she is incorrect. Haven't you learned by now that the inside of any domicile is her domain!

All down while travelling and parked at home.
When camping, all open except for the bedroom ones that stay closed.

Always up when traveling an up when camping. Only put down when not using or if we have a hot day and the sun needs to be blocked out of a particular part of the MH.

Up when camping or in tow. Down in between trips. Saw wear on the paint of the window seal when they were being put down for tow

For us, the best place for them was in the trash. Replaced all of them with venetian blinds. We hated them in both campers we had.

If it's those blame day/night shades you are referring to; I read somewhere to keep the shades up while traveling to keep the pleats pressed.
I'm with OC, when they start giving us problems, they will get filled in the round bin.
But to answer the question whether up/down:
I say leave them up-all the time. If the neighbors don't like seeing me in my underwear, they shouldn't be looking.
But the BOSS wants them down at night, so they're down at night.
But will be down to block the sun/heat during the day too.
