Not a happy camper

Well I just got off the phone today with the warranty department about the 2 stools and garage carpet and the keys to lock the gate door that we still do not have and nobody's done anything about getting us our missing stuff. The dealer told me that I took possession of the coach so it's not there problem (Stoltzfus RV's And Marine in Pa. ) and Forest River said they have to look into it now the rep (Amber) knew these items were missing and still nothing has been done. What a joke!! This is a really nice hauler but I gotta say I can not recommend anyone to this dealer or manufacture. It's not like we bought a $6000. Used as is trailer this thing was a lot of money and I'm upset now.

Shejam28 - In trying to understand your frustration I've only found your posts suggesting that you have now had the unit about one week and generally really like it. While your "missing stuff" is important, you have not reported anything which would suggest it is missing due to anything other than misunderstandings, oversights, and/or honest mistakes, the type of things which are almost always sorted out without much trouble in fairly short order. Against that backdrop, getting overly agitated can be counter-productive in my experience. Have you actually tried working with the dealer and Forest River to resolve your concerns, or did you just jump to threatening legal action and attacking their integrity? Maybe I'm missing something, but this just seems to be escalating unnecessarily and prematurely. There could come a day when you need to lawyer-up...just not sure you are anywhere near that point yet.

We had a similar problem with an item we had ordered at build, that had somehow been omitted at the factory. After 6 weeks of patiently waiting for our dealer to get it for us, I contacted the product rep. (here on this forum) and within a week our dealer called to say they had received it. I don't know who the rep. for your trailer is, but maybe you could try that route. But, as Vern has said, don't get agitated and offensive. Tell your story and ask for help. By taking this route, I was able to get done in 6 days what my dealer didn't seem to be able to do in 6 weeks! Good luck with everything, and be patient!

Well things like the keys to lock your unit may not be important
To some they are to me! I didn't lawyer up yet but feel it will come
To that. We too ordered and waited passed the promised date guess
I can understand that to some point but it was mostly the way it was
Handled by the dealer and the rep. I've had the unit for 3 weeks now and
Nobody made any effort to get these things to me it's just sad that this is how
They treat you. I work in a manufacturing plant as well and it is a number 1
Priority to make the customer happy if we send our product out wrong or missing
Things we do whatever to correct it. And my experience with the RV industry is that is not the case.

That description is far more compelling. If I were you, I'd stick with that tone as I deal with the dealer and factory rep.

For the record, I agreed in my post above that your missing stuff IS IMPORTANT. I wish you the nothing but the best, and would hope (and believe you have the right to expect) that the dealer and factory step up and resolve your legitimate concerns very soon. If you are speaking with the right people, there certainly should be no lawyer required.

Sorry to hear about the issues with your camper. You mention that Amber (rep) knew there was stuff missing. Is she the rep from FR or your dealer? Do you have it in writing from the dealer that things were missing when you picked up your unit? I can understand how anxious you were to get your camper, but personally I wouldn't hand over a check or sign anything unless it was noted on my contract or a 'we owe you' slip from issued from the dealer. Some dealers, not all, wash their hands of the purchaser once they have your money. Hopefully this won't be the case for you. If they are treating you like this now I'd find a different dealer for service work if/when you need it. Hope all works out for you.

My advise.... Stay on top of it, stay calm.... Breath! It will get done, and you will be happy!! I know this how? We have a Georgetown xl 2014 and for a few small things that needed fixed we waited 5 weeks!! It still has to go back. But last weekend, we went out in it, had so much fun, we are going to use it for the next month and finish getting the work done. This is our first ever MH, I love it, I agree, QA should and could be much better!!

Did she give you a card or something with her contact info? Could you PM Amber's name and contact information to me so I can look into this?

We've had ours since first of April , about 9 weeks we've used the storage area about 2 weeks! We're paying extra for it to be covered, and it not there! The Dealer Ron Hoover, fired the last manager, now things are getting done, so I'm a happy camper!

These people at Forest River are still jerking me around with sending my 2 bar stools and carpet kit for the garage. Does anyone have a contact number for a manager or someone higher in command? What a joke the rep and warranty dept keep blowing smoke. Every time I call they say its going out tomorrow and they will call me to confirm but it never happens.

May I suggest that you contact "trailertrash78" via the PM system and see what he find out or do?

Hopefully he will be of help. If I were in your shoes I would expect this matter to be taken care of properly & within a reasonable time frame too.
