Off to Savannah

Going to visit Savannah this weekend. The campground does not take specific reservation, meaning we reserved a spot but don't know which one. That seems a bit odd, but hopefully it will be great. The state park is $35 a night which is the most expensive state park we have stayed yet. Probably because it is a tourist spot. Anyone stay at skidaway in savannah?

Yes. Nice campground with pull thru sites. Pretty close to downtown savannah. Unfortunately , no state parks in GA are site specific.

We liked that campground. I found it odd also about their reservation system but since we stayed there I have seen other places that do the same. We didn't see any bad campsites so you should have no problem getting a decent spot. Enjoy the trip!

Never been there, we always go down to Jekyll Island. A lot less people around.

If you're going out to Tybee Island while you're there (and I recommend that you do), Fort Casimer Pulaski is well worth a stop. It's on your left as you're driving out the causeway, on the banks of the Savannah River.

It's our favorite camping spot. All great sites. We go every year. Never a bad site. Savannah is beautiful!

We stay at hilton head harbor every year and its the same thing but all of their sites are beautiful. We then jump on the motorcycle and ride to savannah 1 or 2 days during our stay which is an awesome 45-50 min ride.

Never camped there but went often while living in Atlanta. Love Savannah! Maybe one day we'll drag the Sabre down there.

Very nice park, stayed there several times. The Old Savannah Tour Trolley actually comes out to the park and picks you up and will take you downtown Savannah. UGA Aquarium on Skidaway is nice also, small but still interesting.
