picking up 2014 XLR hyperlite 30hfs on Saturday!

Picking up our toy hauler on Saturday! Huge up grade from our 1993 Westwind 22 foot fifth wheel.

Any tips or advice when doing the walk through with the dealer? Any towing tips too? Never pulled anything longer then a 25 foot fifth wheel. I have a 2004 Chevy drama 2500 HD.

Looking forward to chatting it up and hearing stories about what you do with your toy haulers.

Welcome and congrats on your 2014 XLR Hyperlite 30hfs! Go to the 'Library' tab above and download/print a PDI checklist. Make sure you test all onboard components. Have them fill the water tank so you can check for any plumbing leaks, both feed and waste. Make sure all LP devices work, furnace, water heater, stovetop and oven. Check every light and outlet, TV, radio, awning, fridge, etc. Check tire pressure. The PDI checklist will go into more detail. Anything that you're not happy with have them fix before you sign anything and turn over any $. Good luck, hope all goes well .

Congrats, and welcome to the hfs family (like I've been here all that long!)

X2 on going through the PDI and make sure everything works. I picked mine up on July 19th, I've used it twice, and it's now back at the dealer having its punch list fixed. These things roll off the assembly line with about as much QC as a Twinkie, so check and check again. My big issue is my fridge wasn't working right. Everything else was little stuff. Good luck! It tows like a dream.

We love ours. Have the same truck, you won't have any problems towing. Bought in February and have used it at least twice a month. No problems.

My friend has one, he had to have his tank plumbing changed.
I believe the bathroom shower was plumb into the black tank...
Don't really recall, just check what each drain empties into

This is correct, shower does drain into the black tank. Great if you're in a CG, not so great if you're dry camping for an extended period of time.

That was the first thing my buddy had changed.. In Florida state Palatka, no sewer hookups.. And always hot .... So showers are critical !!!

So, the shower dumps into the black tank, is standard? That sounds dumb to me, considering the black is 32 and the grey is 57 gallon.....

on the 30hfs5, on that trailer the black is a big tank and grey smaller.

Correct--black is 54 gal and gray is 32. So if you're going to have it "replumbed," I'd plumb your shower into a separate gray tank (find a place for one!) or you're going to be filling up real quick.

Some dealers let you "camp" on their lot for the first night so you can find any potential problems and they get a chance to fix them before you go all the way home.
