Picking up my 27HFS on Saturday
Well it has been a while, but I am picking up my 27HFS on Saturday. The folks at RV Wholesalers have been great in dealing with me and all of my inquiries. Dallas and Scott, you all rock....Now I just have to get thru this 16 hour drive up and 16 back....

TB, hello. I bought from them last year and would do it again. I am sure you will love it.
Right now, tell them to stage your unit for the PDI on concrete. This place looks like an artillery range when it rains, complete with small ponds.
Before signing, and with an LP tank filled before you get there; let them help you add some water to the FW tank; hook up electric and city water. Fill the HW and heat it with electric and gas, check out every minute detail; every system, including every button and switch. Every door, every window, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.
Look over everything they want you to sign, carefully. They wanted more money when I got there and what I had given them, wasn't reflected on the contract, probably an honest mistake, but be careful.
If you can spare the time, camp at the lake near there to really get to see it work.
Make sure tires are at 65psi cold and the lugs are torqued; take along a torque wrench and check at 50, then at every 100 miles up to about 500/600. I was surprised that each time they would tighten. I also added the red high temp bearing grease with the buddy hubs, but shoot it in slowly, until you see it begin to exit the bearings. It might take more than one tube for all 4.
If you get home in 16 hours you are probably driving too fast. If you haven't pulled this kind of weight, length and height behind a light truck, allow plenty of stopping distance and be especially careful through Atlanta!
Let us know how it goes. And remember a post without pictures is really no post at all

27' hfs love
Good for you!
We love ours - only had it 6 weeks. I couldn't find any in Seattle area; well, ones I could find are around $35k and there is no way I'm paying that. I have a love/hate relationship with living in the Puget Sound - love the scenery but hate the fact it's soooo expensive for everything here. So I went on RV Trader and did a nationwide search. Found it in Ohio, called the owner, settled on a price and went on to U-Ship.com and found a couple that were willing to tow it to me (for a large fee of course). This was all sight unseen; I had to trust the owner that it was in great condition etc. It arrived 10 days later and I couldn't be happier. Everything just shifted into place and we're just tickled pink about it.
What kind of toys do you guys have?

Could not find a better deal the RV Wholesalers...Gave the local dealerships a chance to match price and they couldn't.
As for toys, I have a 2015 Harley Street Glide Special and a 2010 RoadGlide...

That was the same for me. I looked first at local dealers, while deciding on which TH, then found RVW online. Before I ordered mine, I went back to 3 of the dealers to see their best price on the exact model. I really didn't want to drive to OH... but they couldn't come close, one actual told me there was no way I was buying it for that price. Lazy Days, I think. Of course, the locals try to instill fear by saying how hard it willl be if a warranty fix is necessary (buying out of state). WW

I believe any dealer must do warranty work, but don't have to prioritize you on their schedule if you didn't buy there. And once you're out of warranty, good luck.

Respectfully, I don't think so, BHF.
My unit needed axles swapped under warranty (right after I got it home) the service manager at CW in Jax (Jacksonville) hemmed and hawed around for a day then said they didn't have the expertise. I know they had be taking units for repair to a small RV shop in their area. But the shop is huge with lifts, etc., for the largest MH out there.
Then, Dick Gore's main man told us, flat out, to take it back where you bought it.
FR (Diane) was aware of their refusal.
So, Camper's Inn in Jax took care of me then, plus when the AC bit the dust.
DG and CW is two places that I will never darken their doorways, much to their delight, I suppose. Why would a shop refuse to make money and turn away business? They bend over backwards for the MH elite...
...we simply didn't spend enough money to earn their respect. OK, I've put away the soapbox for now.

Well, the fact that they hemmed and hawed suggests they knew they should do it. But again, they set the order for repair.

BHF, I'm not sure what you mean by setting the order for repair. They had no intention of repairing the thing. The answer was don't bring it there. Whether it was incompetence or that there wasn't enough skin in the game, I don't know. Again, I say a dealer doesn't have to work on anything they don't want to.

WW, I don't know what FR's dealer agreement covers. I do know with Fords and Harleys any dealer is to do warranty work. Again, if you didn't buy it there, you may be at the end of the service line. I tend to be a little forceful in the face of dealer opposition. If I was told to go elsewhere, I would go into "SOB" mode.

I don't... I go to another dealer willing to work. RV warranty work doesn't "work" like Ford or Harley. Those are two dealers that will never experience me in the buying mode.

So I made the trip to Ohio on Friday 1014 miles, average 20.3 mpg in my truck without the trailer. Got to RV Wholesalers..Had a few issues that was corrected right away. When I left the camper is as best as could be without taking it out. I had about 4 minor issues, and Scott and his crew fixed everything on the spot. The 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi with the Blue Ox WDH pulled the trailer with NO SWAY or issues at all. I had plenty of power from the TV, and going up and down the inclines in the mountains was no problem for the vehicle. I used the cruise and put it in tow vehicle mode. I was able to maintain 65 mpg with plenty of power in reserve. I can tell you that going thru the mountains I only averaged 8.0 mpg, south of Atlanta it climbed to 12 mpg towing the camper. I am VERY happy with my purchase, dealer, and service so far. Been raining here in Tampa. I will post pics probably tomorrow. I already have a three day camping trip for this Friday - Sunday.... Thanks everyone for the advice. WolfWhistle, thanks for the advice..I used it, and all worked our well...TechBeckster

Happy that the trip went well, TB. Your MPG is quite good. With all the rain we are getting, you should find any leaks if there are any
