I saw how the cable is attached to the top, they use a removable link or quick link. Probably 3/8" or better can't see the bottom part. Its probably a deep channel of some kind and a cable could be pinned to it. I'll calm down and wait for the pics... sorry, too much caffeine!
Oh, here's my marine cables.

WW - Here are pictures from another brand trailer that I have seen at a RV show.
I've seen people on this forum use a basic eye bolts and turn buckles.
Hope this helps with your project .

Thanks K,
Looks good. I just wanted to see how the factory does it. The lower would work well for me, but there should be a cleaner way at the top. Looks like a lot of weight would twist the steel plate. Most not, though.
Thanks again,
WW

Does anyone know if you can get the awning that is over the garage door?

You can buy them after market. Google "Dometic 9500". They have a powered and a manual version both are in the $1000 plus range.

Will have to see if the Hyperlite line can handle it. Thanks for the information.

I was reading the installation manual and there were provisions for units that didn't have the proper structure backing as well. Basically you install a plate on the interior wall that carries the load.
If you have the space between the roof, lights, and garage door it sounded feasible. Of course that was their directions...
BB would probably know best though.

Unfortunately there is not enough room between the lights and the roof line.

I was told by Forest River that the ramp they use for the patio is different than the standard ramp. So if you wanted to add a Patio you had to buy a new ramp door at $1600.00 that would hold the weight.
