Are your awning lights not cutting it for you?

I was wanting the feature of the motion sensor instead of leaving them on all of the time.

That might be a fun easy mod for me. Mine even has a spot for a switch in the panel for a porch light but since I have awning lights, XLR just put a plug in the hole. It would be an easy install with my floorplan to mount the light outside the door and run the wire down to the switch panel as the feed would come in right behind my TV. Looks like a project to add to the spring mod list...

Yep...that's the one I had but in white. I was sensitive...people walking 50 feet away would set it off...it would die out in about a minute. All I did was REPLACE the fixture that was in place. No xtra wiring.
Purchased mine from Amazon...like pretty-much everything I buy lately.
I believe the 415 has two on the curb side...so I'd get 'em both. I'm not keen on the hot auto brake bulb used by the factory...they burn-out often.
Yes, I also have the awning led strip...I don't use 'em.

The new unit's aren't coming with them anymore so nothing to replace. It's a new install from 2015+...
The only thing I don't like about this unit is you have to set it to auto every time you power it up. I'd prefer a constant switch to keep it on auto but this unit reverts to manual every time it get's 12V and you'd have to switch it back to auto with the switch on the light.
As to sensitivity, there is an adjustment for thermal heat source size (so people set it off but not small animals) but not distance. Also, not the best setup.

Mine has no current porch lights and my panel is on the opposite wall from the door I am just trying to figure out how to wire it in.

My floorplan is the only easy one for wiring I would guess with the TV right where the wires would come through as opposed to a finished wall. For $50, I'll probably do it. Worse that can happen is I don't use it much....

Don't have an XLR but have a Coachmen 5th wheel. Our awning light didn't put out much light so DH got some solar powered, motion activated lights that have a small hole where you can turn them off if in tight quarters rv parks. He put one by the front door and two on the back side. We have dogs to walk at night and some state parks and COE parks we go to don't have much lighting. This gives us enough light to see well but the tone of the lights doesn't bother any adjacent neighbors (we have asked). They were from amazon and were very inexpensive. You can either screw them into the wall (will need to seal around to prevent any water intrusion) or since they are lightweight, use industrial strength velcro. They were only about $13 each. We've had them for a little over six months and still really like them

Here's a ton of wireless solar ones on Amazon. The only problem with solar is if your awning is out, they aren't getting charged...
