We are into our third year of ownership of the trailer in our signature. We have only seen several other XLR units on the road while traveling. The smaller hyper-light trailers seem to be the most popular.
We love our trailer since it was custom desiged for us by Forest River. They deleted the Murphy bed in the garage area and added a single queen happi-jac bed. The outside entry door was moved forward and replaced with a window. FR also changed the shades for us.
We are happy campers!
Have a great time with your XLR trailers and fifth wheel toy haulers!!

I'll have to look up your model number... haven't heard of it till now. Got any pictures? I ordered the 29HFS with 2 seat recliner ILO dinette and with the single bed in the garage with happi-jac. Mine is just standard with two entry doors (I want to add windows to doors)... standard mini-blinds in the garage (and over the sink) but pull down shades on the rest. I like mine too. I love having a place out of the weather for the bike.

This may have become a standard feature after you ordered yours this way--ours didn't even have a Murphy bed option, came standard with the queen happi-jac bed.
WW-great minds think alike: we ordered ours with the 3-recliner couch instead of the dinette. Then, when we lowered the happi-jac, we found that FR gave us a folding table on the bed to use as a dinette (presumably in the garage.) I thought that was cool, I didn't know I was getting one of those!

Oops... 3 seat recliner... I didn't get a table top. It would have been a more useful option to have ordered the dinette / jack-knife bed option rather than the large bed only. It is a huge bed... the width of the garage and about 6 feet wide. The mattress should be upgraded, if it is to be used.

I have the xlr nitro and love it wish it had more counter space but it's a nice unit I've added shelves and drawer spaces for silver ware since the drawers are so deep

The wife and I are close to buying a '14 395Amp. You can read reviews and comments for weeks straight and get a mixed bag of thoughts. For the most part people seem to be happy with them. Anyone out there just say to absolutely stay away from them? We are looking to purchase up in OH so it would be a haul to get there from OK and we would hate to be disappointed.

I love my XLR. Yes have had some problems but wouldn't trade her on anything. I haven't been in another camper that has the same feeling and flow inside

We just bought our 29hfs, love the floor plan. Nothing like it out there that we ran across. We're thinking of a 5th wheel, but not a fan of the shower in the master.

A perfect TH doesn't exist, but mods are fun... armed only with simple hand-tools, an engineering degree and a couple of hundred hours (kidding, aren't I?) my 29HFS is just right for me. Many agree with me, and the list is growing. But each of us are so amazingly different. I would say (dmnewland) don't just look at the 395Amp... especially don't ask for advice ... sit in it... lay down in it... imagine life in it... take your time... as much as it takes. Balance needs with wants and lean more towards "wants" and you will make the best choice. Don't do like I did, make sure Momma is happy too . Mine will get over it, your's may be different.

Small can't handle what we travel with. Don't get out yet quite as much as we would like to, but maybe soon. We travel with a 2012 Thunderbolt XLR 395 AMP with a 14' garage. Inside it we carry a big 2014 Harley Ultra Limited and a huge 2014 Harley Tri-Glide trike. So this 14 footer is FULL. Love it and having the use of our Chevy truck too when needed.

Well, I haven't been around for a while, but we still have ours. 2012 35x12. Just got back from the Hershey show yesterday. They had a 2015 415 in full black pearl paint. I showed the wife (General, as she is known to me and the kids!) the new paint colors and go figure she likes the neon green and bright orange. Can't imagine the comments you'd get on those. But the black full coat was an $11,000 option! Really????? $11,000????? Anyway, she wasn't happy with the layout (Thank God, no increase in payments for me) and I am really trying to find a 380 AMP somewhere close so she can see that floor plan.

I have the green FBP on my 300x14.
It's like being a rock star.
Everywhere you go strangers come up and stare and want to talk about it.
It's crazy...

DW and I spent most of the day Saturday checking out the units at Hershey. I was pleased to see the XLR line represented well. I was not pleased that my dealer told me they were discontinuing the gray exterior color only to see almost all of them in gray at the show. Dealers really sometimes p*$$ me off with the stuff they'll tell you to cover up one of their screw-ups. Did enjoy the show, picked up some goodies for the XLR, and decided that we were still very happy with our purchase. Some of them are bigger and nicer, but a whole lot heavier!
