Question from my XLR buddy

I have to wonder about this.

My buddy has a 2015 XLR Thunderbolt 5er toy hauler, not sure of exact model #, Just thought I would throw this out here.

He just told me his dealer in the middle of MO(300+miles away) called him and informed him that he needs to bring his unit back to have the wheel studs replaced as FR learned during assembly that on certain models the studs are breaking at the factory during assembly and all the studs manufactured in a certain date range needed to be replaced.

So, I just checked the NHTSA for recalls on this and found nothing. Does this sound legit? It is just me asking as he is going to take it back for this.

I own a 2016 XLR Nitro 29udql5 toy hauler 5'er and just received a recall notice from Forest River, not my dealer. It is NHTSA Recall:16V457. The defect states: The equalizer knurled bolt may not be seated properly into the chassis axle hanger. I don't know if this is the same issue your buddy is talking about, but this is the notice I got.

And you should be able to take it to any warranty approved dealer, not just the one you bought it from.

The studs come loose, I had one fall out as I was setting up 4 months ago. Sent pics to FR, emails, etc. Yesterday we packed up the leave for our next stop went to nearest campers world for repairs, long story short, pissed away the entire day nothing accomplished. Campers world blamed FR for not authorizing the service, FR warranty want home so I got a case of the ass told off CW,flipped them off and hit the road. I had already effected a temp repair and wasn't going to wait for FR & CW to get their act together.
