More information on this recall. Should inspect your axles before taking off on end of summer trips!

When did this recall come out?
There is no date on the front page.

The original post was in March of this year, I saw an article in a daily RV business news email from yesterday and it was the first I heard of it before searching this forum.

Submission date on the letter to the dealer says 6/20/16.

Yep. Halfway home from race on I20 and huge sway. Thought wind or something. Slowed down and it. stopped. Got home and this is what I had. Had new parts sent to my house. To much work to drag it hour and half for this. The new bolt they sent was wrong. Used my own. Another phone call

well seems FR should have contacted me . mine XLR has a manufacture date of 8/14
no word from FR . funny things is i installed a dexter ezflex equalizer . wanted to add the wet bolts to where the springs attach to the frame via the lippert alignment BS but could not because i could not get wet bolts long enough . i really don't like this lippert alignment piece nothing but a gimmick . After all once the axles are set on the frame and hopefully aligned when installed there is never a need for this piece of junk . i still have the original bolts at those points never took them out because i could not find the wet bolts to fit . now i guess i better take a look and see . Don't recall seeing anything when adding the EZ Flex .
I don't think this bolt breaks because it wasn't seated right . it breaks because lippert used the cheapest maker they could for the bolts

I'm subscribed to NHTSA recall list on RVs and get from 1 to three recall notices every month. Only 1 has been on my unit, but I still get all FR products recalls. I posted them for a while, but stopped. I assumed everyone was getting them.

I see they give the techs a whole 18 minutes to do the job . must be easy guess they don't need jacks or anything special just grab the spring with your hand put in place and shove a new bolt through. lmao

Am I reading this right? Is this only tri-axle setups. I just had this happen to me on 31fqsl and have pics just like mx411. Repaired it on the fly. However mine is only tandem axle.

I have never got any kind of recall letter ever, do you have to sign up for them or how do you get them?...

Hah! We picked ours up April 1st in CO , drove to SD to establish residence then to the panhandle of Florida. While I'm watching it go through auto level, from the other side of the coach the wife hollers "hey parts are falling out". Found one washer and the bolt on the ground. FR wants me too tale it to Campers World for repair. No sure that's a good idea, think I'll make a run to the factory instead.

Graylock, that's a pretty easy DIY if you have tools and no damage. No on CW IMO

I put it back together but as the bolt exited it bent the opening in the bracket so that the washer will no lay flat.

Definitely check them all. When I had to do makeshift repairs on the road, I checked all of mine. And while they weren't completely loose, I could tighten them all. My dealer has parts on order to do final repairs. My 31fqsl was not on the recall list. When explaining my issue to the service writer, I tried referencing newer XLR models on the lot and none of them had the cam system.
