What's everyone's opinion on installing a roof rack on top of the trailer? I need to haul my two sea kayaks (14+ ft) and storing them inside the trailer is tiresome when trying to use the bathroom
.
Our roof appears strong enough to hold a rack and two 45lb kayaks and facing upside down they should be about the height of the AC unit. I'm thinking of using rollers on the back bar of the rack to ease in lifting.
I saw roof bars like you would use on a camper shell with a track that would have multiple mounting points along the roof that may do the trick.
We treat our kayaks as "better to have them and not need them......."
I'm not a big fan of the ladder rack with long kayaks and I'm trying not to go down the path of getting $3k folding kayaks again.
