Running Lights

I wish there was a way to light up those beautiful Running Lights that are on our TH when camped! They showcase the unit so beautifully!

Take a piece of heavy gauge solid copper wire and jump pins 3-4 - 3 is running lights, 4 is 12 volt - this will turn the lights on.

Some will take a flasher unit and put it in between pins 3 and 4 and flash them all too.

Using a jumper wire, connect the Tail/Running Light(green) socket to the Battery Charge (black) socket.

I would suggest using a fuse as the jumper instead of just a piece of wire. A bit of insurance in case you have a mishap. One like is used in the DC circuits of the trailer would do it, maybe 10A.

DH wired a switch for ours. Mounted it on the frame of the hitch. So we just go and flip a switch. He said it is not hard. He just tapped into the pig tails 12volt common with a inline fuse a wired the switch

Okay, I have to ask a dumb question. I know DW means wife and DH means husband. But I can't think for the life of me what the D means. Maybe "Dumb" comes to mind! What does DH & DW really stand for?!

When we turned our running lights on last night, I see there are just not enough running lights to light up the outline of the TH like i hoped. The pics I took did not turn out since it was so dark. Was gonna take some more at dusk, but is has been raining most all day here! Gonna see if the DH can add just a few more running lights to showcase the rig. I think it will look great when camping!

Out of curiosity, I priced building one, and it would cost $22.04. That's less than half of what that item sells for.

Fuse Holder - Radio Shack - $1.97
30-Amp Inline Mini Blade-Type Fuse Holder : Fuse Holders | RadioShack.com

SPST Switch - Radio Shack - $3.19
Toggle Switch with On/Off Label Plate : Toggle Switches | RadioShack.com

Pollak 7 Pin Socket - etrailer - $6.99
Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Socket - Vehicle End Pollak Wiring PK12707

4X4X4 PVC Box - Home Depot - $9.89
Carlon | PVC Junction Box – 4x4x4 In | Home Depot Canada

I did not price out 12 inches of wire, as most people have some laying around.
