I'm 9-months into mine and love it.
I'm fairly positive we're in for another for our 2nd door.

Wondering if this would work on a motorhome door. Specifically a forest river Berkshire. Anyone used one on a MH?

I would love to have one but at that price I can't stand that for a door lock even with the 40% discount

Last I knew, they didn't have a model for motorhomes. You might check their website to see if they have anything listed- supposedly they were working on one.

How are these locks in really cold weather? Should you use Alkaline batteries?

I installed one about a year ago on my Mini Lite. It took about 10 minutes; remove 4 screws, swap lock units, replace 4 screws. I'm still on the original batteries. This is one of those gadgets that, once you realize the convenience of not needing/looking for keys anymore, becomes a no-buyers-remorse outlay of funds. They build a very good, quality product. It allows everyone in your travel party to have the freedom to come and go, including invited guests who arrive while you're out site-seeing. It locks with one press of the pad, and the keypad lights-up at night for easy combo entry. The locking operation throws the deadbolt, the latch can be locked closed the same way as an oem lock if desired. Using the keypad is so easy we rarely use the fob. I highly recommend this upgrade.

SOLD! Thanks for that great review. I'll be online tonight buying. Hope they have a big stock.
BTW, I meant to say Lithium batteries in my last post above. They do better in cold temperatures.

Note: This sale ad says it starts at "midnight Friday". I ASSUME (?) they mean midnight tonight (Thursday)??
Also, I see that the lock has no numeral "0" on it. That prohibits me from entering the one 4-digit combo that I can probably remember!!!

Thanks for sharing this. We are in the process of going from our hybrid to a travel trailer and was wanting one of these. Guess I will be ordering in the morning.
Anybody know if Tweety's is having a sale? Got some other things I was going to buy from them.

So actually it looks like I need the right hand one. The left has lock to the right, and right has lock to left. Glad I looked.
|
Almost every trailer has its doors on the curb side, and almost all of these have the hinge is on the right and the lockset/handle is on the left. (So if the door isn't closed properly, it will just flutter a little, not swing wide open.) As stated above, if the lockset is on the left, you open it with your right hand, hence it's a "right hand" lockset.
There are a very few newer trailers I've seen that have a bathroom door on the street side, so I think they have the hinge on the left and lockset on the right, but I don't know if they use a different lockset or if they just install a right handed one upside down. I've never inspected one that close.
If you've got a standard curbside door, I think you'll need a right-handed lockset.
UPDATE: Looking at the TT in your signature on-line, you'll need a right handed lockset.

I added the version 3.0 to the cart. Clicked on cart. Then started to check out. Then backed up to cart. As soon as I backed up to the cart it popped up offering the 20 cash back for sharing on Facebook. I'm on a mac with block popups. I was surprised to see the popup.
