I use the same hand pump that I have for pumping in the anti-freeze when winterizing. I fill a jug with the recommended bleach then fill the rest of it with water. Then I pump the mixture into the tank.

The one on the left is city/tank, the one on the right is black flush.

Now I'm dumbfounded at why FR would put a female garden hose end on fresh water fill?

It's fine for filling up at your house, but, those that fill up at parks via water jugs are stymied or at the very least a PITA.

Makes no sense to me.

I guess the fancier the RV the less common sense put to use in building it. My "cheap" travel trailer has two inlets for water. Put the hose in the inlet to fill the tank or attach the hose to the female fitting for city water. Dave mine is a FR.

I talked to my buddy last night, he just bought a Cougar 21RBS and it has the garden hose fitting for his fresh water fill as well.

I'm sure there will be lots of feedback from customers on this "improvement"

My FR TT has the city water hookup on the starboard side and the water fill on the port side. The water fill you just pour it in with a hose, no screw on attachment.

XLRs like many others has a remote FWT and gravity fill won't work. It takes pressure source whether city or of our own design (a tank and pump) it ain't rocket science. If your requirement is to have gravity fill, shop another model or brand.

Filling a fresh water tank without a gravity feed is real easy so I see no need to "mod" the unit.

Filling a hose with bleach 1st and connecting to trailer works as long as you have pressurized water pushing the bleach.

If your buying a pump get the Wayne 12v type so you can fill your tank during dry camping.

So your saying for the past 20 years you have been jamming a flexible funnel in a 3/4" garden hose ??

There are several pictures on this topic showing the fitting.
