Yep... Same here. We have a 27HFS and the same window in the front bedroom next to the front door is also hard to open.

Same on mine. All 3 windows like that are knuckle breakers. Also the slide window only opens about a foot and binds up. Not that I have the windows open much, but they should work better.

I have a 2300 and like yours, the bedroom window was sticking and then jamming. At the rear of the window there is a plastic strip/clip, about 2-3 ins long. Pulled it out, no more problems. Does it rattle? Not that I can tell. There is a similar strip in the kitchen but so far mine is OK. Good luck !

Difficult hell impossible to open.

We have the same problem on our FR 27RL Max. when doing the "walk thru" the tall windows were stuck. Dealer rep. says they are just difficult and proceeded to pull the top rail off one when trying to open. Good news is they are going to replace three of them, just wish the latch design was better. The three people and a gorilla type design is poor.

Have 2 of these damned windows. One next the bed and one in he bathroom. Someone always gets hurt trying to open them. Worst design I have ever seen. I can't even begin to document all of the design aspects wrong with this thing. If a Forest River rep said they didn't have any complaints he is lying, plain and simple.

Yes, those same windows in my Rocky have been cussed out a few times, as well!! (I have to go into Hulk mode to open them...the wife doesn't even try anymore.)

I like that bow wax idea...will pick some up at Bass Pro (I'm always looking for reasons to go there, anyway!) :-)

OC and Turbs have nice little business going selling poles and brackets. I thought I would make some of these (might need some refinement) and sell them to those lucky individuals with the LCI three handed window locks. A one handed man can work it, or an old man like me can do it with both hands and a lot of embarrassing colorful language.

I have these same windows on either side of my master bedroom slide on my Forest River Cardinal 36-BLE 5th Wheeler. These open and close extremely hard also. WD40 helps for a while, but it appears to be a poor design.

Windows hard to open.

Hi all from Calgary Alberta, we bought the V-Lite 30WRKSS 2013. All windows are difficult to open. Once open it isn't too bad getting to full open. Like others closing isn't an issue. Seems that the suggestion of the seal on the bottom rail are the problem makes sense to me. Now that it is fully winterized we'll try some of the lubrication ideas next spring.

Aha! Your two lock releases are in a groove, which lets you push the releases while lifting using that groove for "grip". Better design. I need to get a grip!

Hey, thanks PH for the picture.

Hi Dale, So some of your windows have the two releases and open vertically? As I slide one of these three windows closed, just before fully closing you can feel resistance... kind of like a seal against another seal. Like the seal is too thick. Someone suggests removing a plastic strip, as well. Which I will look at when I get the TH back. I'm going to find a better to unlock while lifting, but getting bow wax and try that first.

I know of one RV owner that tied a heavy string, or cord, between the two locks. By pulling on the string with one hand he can unlock both locks and he uses the free hand to open the window.
He used this method on a large window with these locks. I would assume it would work just as well on the smaller ones.

I did think the bobbins were an innovative design.. But your design is lacking.. The force created by the leverage point would be too great already with an up force before there was enough movement on the latch. I'm thinking it would bind up and not release the latch. I think you need to figure out how to accelerate the movement on the latches before up force is applied into the system.

I have three Windows like that, very difficult to open and close. I don't even bother to open them now but if I do I close them from the outside which is much easier.
