Squeaky Fantastic Fan

When my fans are on low or off but moving slowly because of wind. There is annoying squeak. I was planning on using some spray dry lube but was curious what others have used.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Check the fan shroud for debris that may be causing your abnormal noise. You can gain clear and easy access from the roof with the lid fully open. If you get up there to look, have the fan off and manually spin the blades listening for and noise. Clean the area of any debris.

StillK,
Will do that check. The noise goes away if the blades are spinning fast that is what is werid.

My maxxair fans don't do this. A seal must be whats doing that? WD40 to the rescue.

Mine too, squeaked at low speed...I cleaned the blades and inspected - saw no obvious rubbing or debris. It would even squeak when moved by hand an inch or two. Used some silicone spray on the motor shaft and it has gone away. I suspect it is a seal around the shaft.

Finally found some time to pop-up off the screens from inside the camper and inspect. Nothing was rubbing, so I did spray some 303 on the motor shaft and the squeaky went away.

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone...

How tough are those screens? I tried to pop mine off but stopped for fear of snapping the plastic? Seems to be on pretty tight

Pops right off
Look around the perimeter of screen you'll find a raised portion to pry under.

Turbs is right. There is a little "finger" grab part. Pull down on that AND then gently pull down on the screen edge/rim until the first clip releases. The rest of them (~6) will be easy.
