Still getting used to my 29HFS
Spent the weekend at a friends year round campground with the 29HFS. First time using the "city water" hooked up for everything. All the faucets worked just as designed. Was also the first time being hooked up to full time sewer. I left the dump valves open all the time. Next time, I will just fill up the gray/black tanks and dump them when I leave. Would get sewer gases when I flushed the toilet (but was fine when the toilet was not in use...). Also, used the "back flush" a few times, just because I could... Lastly, we had the AC on almost the whole weekend. The temp was in the mid 90's with high humidity but the AC kept the camper at 70 (via the thermostat) just fine. I do need to get a manual thermometer to ensure what the real temp is in the camper instead of trusting the wall thermostat.
All in all, the 29HFS was just perfect for my family and I. Many of the full-time campers walked thru the 29HFS and really enjoyed the layout and accessories.
Can't wait to get back out camping again....

never leave the black tank valve open , you'll find out the hard way that the solids will build up in the tank , the water will just flow out leaving the solids behind . causing you big problems down the road

I dump mine about once a week. i also leave the grey valves shut , and when i dump it's the black first then the greys . that helps to flush the poop out . while the greys are draining i close the black valve and almost refill the tank with the flush and dump again to keep real clean inside . sometimes i do it a third time as well .

NS,
I have been using a similar procedure as you till this past weekend. Lesson learned and will stick the keeping the black and grey tanks closed till I'm ready to dump them.
Thanks...

Very good tip. You need volumes of water to flow solids when you dump.
Actually, a friend of mine suggests using the potty for solids a last resort. He said he has had better luck with odor.
We usually stay where there's a campground potty, we use that whenever possible.

I paid way too much money to use those nasty campground toilets. Just let it fill and dump as needed. On our fourth trailer and have never once had an issue with odor. Keep chem in it and all will be great!
