Thinkin hard on an XLR

We are thinkin hard on moving up to a XLR345v16. Gotta have the 16' garage and the Viper is the only one we've found. I've studied all the floor plans and haven't seen any others with a 16' garage. Did I miss anything? Anybody care to throw in their 2cents worth? Im all ears. Thanks

I haven't looked for a while, but I do think that was the only 16' garage around. Most of us that have XLR's really ;like them, as you can read on the threads here. Some have had issues, but FR seems to take care of customers better than most. Good luck in your search.

Just an afterthought- you may want to try looking at Vengeance too. We saw a bunch of them at the Hershey show, didn't even know FR made them. The website doesn't show fifth wheel floor plans but I know we saw them there. They looked real nice, but not sure of the garage size.

I just picked up my XLR 345v14 Saturday. My kids were so excited about it that we backyard camped that night. The unit is awesome. I was deployed when I ordered mine (blind purchase) I had never been in an XLR. I am very glad I went this direction. The 14' bay isn't bad and is far better than what others offered (12') it Easley fits my 3 motorcycles and quad. The only complaint I have is that you couldn't order it with recessed E-track in the floor, this would be a great option over the 6 floor hooks.

We have the xlr Viper 305 16 love the big garage but we have found most of the places we are going will not let us bring our John Deere 825i gator so we are down sizing the garage to a 12 have ours for sale. But we live it. No complaints.

I plan on adding some E-track on the wall. I use WheelDocks for my bikes which traps them. Just looking to prevent side-to-side sway of my bikes.

Is there enough structure in the wall to attach e-track to?

I think you might get it mounted, but how much you can pull on it, I can't guess, but it won't be much. I wouldn't even think about it. Contact FR for their advice.

I agree. The floor is the best where you can back it up with steel.

The WheelDock pretty much handles the load of my bike without having to compress the suspension.

http://www.wheeldock.com

I was thinking some e-track on the sides would be nice to run a strap from each side to my bike to keep side-to-side motion in check.

I also planned on strapping a folding extension ladder, carpet etc. to keep it up against the wall while in transit. I'm still in the "trying to figure out" mode.
