Thanks for the quick responses. Let me know how it pulls after this weekend. Everyone is telling me to get the slider hitch for the fifth wheel. Any recommendations?

I have the Superglide 3300 in mine.
LOVE IT

You can't go wrong with the superglide and you will never know when you are going to need it!

You won't have time to go back and unlock the other guy's hitch when you are sliding out of control.

Tow vehicle is a 2014 ram 1500 crew cab with a 5.7L V8. 9000 max trailer weight.

Trailer is a wildwood x lite 281qbxl. Weighs in at 5700 dry and for us about 6500 loaded.

Airlift kit in back coil springs. Tows nicely..

Made a trade!

So we were tossing the idea of downsizing to the Nitro 24KW XLR, but our weight would not go down much and fitting our bikes would be tight. So, today we traded in our beloved Tundra and purchased an F350 Super Duty. I think we will be able to pull the 29HFS just fine now with our bikes (in garage) and ATV loaded (in the bed). Super excited to have finally made a decision and not have to limit ourselves or sacrifice based on our TV. We will be picking up our new 2017 29HFS from Carolina RV on Thursday and begin our maiden voyage on Sunday. Happy Trails!

I tow my 29HFS with a 06 2500HD duramax, I couldn't even fathom pulling it with a 1/2 ton truck. I would for sure only pull it with a 3/4 ton or bigger.

I have a 2004 gmc 2500hd and am very happy. I know a member has a 1/2 ton quadsteer that has had no issues and is very happy as well. I have been told that not all 1/2 tons are same. Just confirm your TV sticker to ensure your within its limits.
Be happy AND safe...

our limit is tv's GVWR.

It can tow 9600lbs, max GVWR is 7000 and GCWR is 14,400. So a fully maxed TV in GVWR leaves 7400 for a trailer load.

the truck alone tips the scales at 5400lbs..so that's 1600lb payload...2 adults, kids that keep growing, a dog, the hitch and we've got about 850 left for tongue weight.

Trailer ready for camping (and empty tanks water/black/gray) was 6200 lbs - so we're good.

it's not the HP, may be the brakes, tires, suspension, transmission, handling, etc. Running too heavy may cost you in longevity, reliability or safety - or just cost you in stress while driving.
