upgrade to a microwave convection oven

Has anyone changed out their mic for a convection / grill type. Or have seriously contemplated it.

The lack of oven makes me want to do something. I grill when camping, but you can't grill everything. I've seen a scarce few that will fit the space; one is discontinued with rave reviews, of course, if something works they will quite making it (Sharp 820).

I've thought of just getting a Nuwave, but its plastic and has to sit on a counter; something we have a distinct lack thereof.

Please let me know.

The convection is an option. We will be opting for it when we orders ours. Camping World carries one the exact same size as the regular microwave. It was less that $300 if I remember right. We have a convection in our class A. It takes a little learning to use it to it's potential. Still don't know how it browns. Not my department.

We have both a convection/micro and a Nuwave. The good thing about having the Nu wave is it works great as an oven while allowing the microwave to be used to warm other things.

Same here. Ordered ours with our unit. I was going to suggest the same thing. The one that comes with it if ordered must be the same size as the non convection standard one. Don't have ours yet or I'd run out and get you the model number. GDavidHughes, maybe you could post the make and model number for Wolf since you researched this?? Or maybe a link from Camping World to the unit you found??

The current FR website has a fairly hi-res pic in the gallery showing the HighPointe model they are installing. Not sure if its his res enough to get the model number, but you might look there.

Wolf,

We need a more challenging mod. That was too easy.

I'm thinking this would be a good way to add counter space.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. As for you Mr. GD Hughes, I already have a roll around cart similar to this, thank you very much (he-he). I couldn't even leave that alone, adding a fold down surface on the back, for eating while sitting on the recliners. Mine is 48" long with two drawers and a SS top; and made in one of the finest Chinese sweatshops using slave labor, so there!
