I was assuming you where tying to pull a Hyperlight model with my Can-Am Spyder and full tanks - fuel and water my Hyperlight 29hfs weights 8600lbs at wheels hooked to truck ----

I have a lead foot and really had to pay attention to sway over 65 - had the automatic sway system kick in a few times in the F150 max tow - nice feature.

I currently use a 2002
Chevy 1500 silveraldo quadrasteer 6l - w 300k - never any sway issue in any conditions- "with the Quadrasteer- maybe cause the back tire are wider than the front or the trailer Quadrasteer option -

I really love the quadrasteer and would by a new truck if they would bring back this option - hard to give up a feature that let park a trailer anyway with ease

my big question is WHY try to tow with a1/2 ton..........these new trucks are designed for comfort hauling your lawn clippings..........seems like everyone wants to push the limits with a 1/2 ton ! ! ! Just go with a 3/4 ton and forget it..................don't forget the tail wagging the dog theory !

I feel the same way. Want a truck, get a TRUCK. When I bought a new 2014 1 ton diesel, most of the 1/2 tons on the lot cost more. I'll take the big one please

Hi if I read the book correctly its 17100. Based on engine 6.2 and max trailer tow package. Also side door says 7700# package. Hope this helps?

I agree, when I first bought mine I knew nothing about truck weights, payload, tongue weight, trailer weight, CCC etc etc, I bought the Ford F150 as the Toyota dealership would not serve me the day we went, I guess it was the track pants on a Saturday, and Ford was the dealer who had 0% financing out of the big three. Now it is six years later and I know better, don't push the limits get a 3/4 or 1 ton and tow in safety.

You ask why - if that's what you got then that's what your gonna use ---

If you have not tried a quadrasteer - you don't know what your missing

No truck will handle -backup or change lanes better than a quadrasteer-

That why I bought a Hyperlight 1/2 towable😜

Why stop at a 1 ton and why not get a Kodiak 4500 because in reality most 1tons are barely in specs towing that monster 5th wheel - if you do the calculations

There is always something bigger
