f150 towing

I have a 2014 f150 with the 5.0 and the 3.73 rear end and have no problem at all towing my 2016 avenger 28dbs. 6750 dry weight with WD hitch. Plenty of power up hills and pulling out into traffic. The 6.2 should be even better

PowerStop Drilled and Slotted Rotors and Z36 towing pads, ahhhhhhhhhh!!
This mod would cure a lot of problems with the half ton haters. I would agree better brakes with my F 150 Eco would have been a improvement.

WW you must have one big heavy bike 😜 - I do have slotted rotors and performance Brake Pads - at least 10years now - one thing about performance rotors - they do wear much faster......... The new brake controllers are nice - no time delay -

The F150 brake management system I experienced towing home my brand new HyperLight 29hfs home from Ohio to Seattle was very impressive- along with the 6 speed tranny - love new technology

Triumph says the Thunderbird weights 754# but this is without luggage rack, bags and windshield. I would guess that with these, plus at least 3 jackets; 2 helmets; rainsuits, Condor wheel chock, straps, etc. 850# could be a light guess.

Going back, the 9000# GVW loaded for bear minus the weight with mods of 7640# is 1360#.

The 1360# minus the bike and items is 510#.

510# is for everything else. And, more than likely I can't keep it that light. So, the 9000# Gross I predict is probably light as well.

I also just added two audio amps and a subwoofer, 4 more ceiling speakers and an overhead cabinet... reweigh time!

Pulling 9000# with the Ram with its 800 lb/ft of torque is fun and the brakes are amazing. Don't need to do anything to the trucks brakes. The Ram's integrated brake controller is the best I have owned.

I think I have the trailer brakes adjusted better... we will see next time out.

No, smaller bike and me on a diet

I didn't think 649# was bad for 2 batteries, the receiver and television (and dish), drawers under the bed, silverware drawer, convection microwave, inverter?, EMS... what did I forget?

By the time I'm done, I'll need G rated tires and a bigger truck. Already looking at building my own TH on a Featherlite gooseneck

I towed the 24hfs with my 150 Eco. It was fine, but I would not have wanted any part of larger or heavier. I didn't like feeling like I was at the limit so I traded down to a smaller camper and my enjoyment level is much higher.

If I return to anything in the xlr family, which I do hope to do, I will wait until I have a 250.

I was looking at the XLR Hyperlites with a 2500 series truck. We went with the XLRThunderbolt and the 3500 series truck.
If your towing over 7K # you need a 2500 series truck, over 15K # 3500 series truck.
Be safe and get the correct truck. Pulling it is one thing , stopping in another.
Just my opinion.

It has been my experience, that blanket statements like the 7k part of this don't fit every mold. Maybe all he does is tow fifty miles twice year. On top of that the manufacturer's claims of towing capacity (when the payload works out) are what the engineers say is safe. Few outside of that realm have true insight into the TVs true capabilities. The OP can safely tow what he is thinking about IF his particular truck is engineered to do it based on real world weights. Keep it under 65...

I will generally agree with your part about 15k, though.
