If you are a big dude then crawling around on your hands and knees will distribute your "load" across a wider area. Since you have to get down on your hands and knees to do any actual work, anyway, might as well.
Afraid my roof was so hot (bare knees) that I could not stand it. Had to walk to my work spot then put down the blanket and kneeler.
