Walking on the roof
I was wondering if my model doesn't have a ladder is it safe to walk on the roof to clean it?

I would not see why not ?
The rear ladder is an option in most cases and the roof is built the same IMHO.

I'm afraid to get on mine. I'm thinking 250 moving around might hurt something

Scrubbing? Do you hire out? 😄 I've never washed or waxed an RV. I guess I trade them before they need it!

I'm about 3 lbs. short of a wookie and I get on mine all the time. They are designed for it so you or a service tech can do maintenances on your roof. Just be careful they can be slippery.

The roof are all built the same weather it be an Thunderbolt, Nitro or Hyper. We just chose not to install ladders on the small TT's. We are LOOKING at including them on the new model year.

Walking on Roof and Cleaning
I'm so sorry to highjack this post a bit, but when the dealer wants $349.99 to "recondition" the roof, what does that entail, and is it worth it? I was just going to scrub it down good and use the rubber conditioner to spread over it.
Kind of new at this trailer stuff.
Thanks,
Bob

They were going to drive it in one door and then out the other! [emoji85] then charge you $350.00 for the drive through!
Honestly just wash it and be done.

So good to hear, Turbs!! I've had the trailer in several times to have the waste values (black & gray) fixed and working, and it seems they have just done that. Drive it in one door and then out the other. I really hate the cable type values where they use a long cable and wind it under the underbelly. The values never seem to hold the waste well. Dealers are such a crap-shoot, and love to wait until your warranty lapses.
Thanks again!!

What exterior ladder set would you recommend for 2015 XLR 29HFS? I'm assuming some interior blocking in the rear sidewall of the cargo bay, some sealant and thru bolts, any advice?

Weight wise you're going to be fine, but I learned the hard way.. it's always a good idea to toss down a packing blanket, cardboard or kick your shoes off if you're needing to do much moving around.
I had a small stone in the sole of my shoe once and ended up leaving a couple of small punctures that turned into quite a headache.

I was on my 29HFS roof today. Just used caution when walking and tried to walk on the cross beams (could make them out without too much difficulty). I did have some soft/cushion blankets and a garden kneeler to spread my weight a bit. Also, made sure my shoes did not have rocks in the tread...

If you are a big dude then crawling around on your hands and knees will distribute your "load" across a wider area. Since you have to get down on your hands and knees to do any actual work, anyway, might as well. Less chance of falling off, too.
Also makes for fewer nasty footprints up there.

I get mine washed for 45 bucks just up the street from where I work, takes them less than 1/2 hour.
