Wall mount tv while traveling ?
hello, I am going to install a full motion wall mount for my 24 inch flat screen and was wondering that those of you that have one already do you leave your tv on the mount while traveling, I was thinking that maybe I can secure it with a wire tie or some sort of strap, looking for input pros or cons on doing it, I would love to not disconnect the wires every time. thanks joe

We just made our first trip in our 5er and we strapped the tv to the mount in the bedroom (it's not a big one) but it wasn't a bungee cord, it was a strap. The TV in the livingroom has an automatic lock mechanism on the back that you have to pull a chain to release so nothing needed on it...just need to make sure the tv is pushed back and it's held by that lock

When you're ready to travel, push the TV up against the wall and secure it at the corners with something like these:

I mounted a 24" LED on a articulating arm to the bedroom wall. I used a nylon battery tie down strap to secure it to wall when in motion. I used a rivet gun to attach the strap retainers to the wall. One near the top and one near the bottom of tv. It works great.

When the dealer installed the full motion TV mount they used one that came with a lock built into the mount . It works great . It is used on our 21 in. TV .

I have an articulated mount for my 22" tv in bedroom. When I travel, I simply slip it out of its' mounting and put it on the bed. Takes about 5 seconds. Same with mounting it back. No matter how well you strap it in on the wall, all the bouncing up and down will eventually work on the screw holding the mount on the wall. Better safe than sorry.

I installed a wall mount that is fully able to move in several directions and a 40 inch flat screen in the entertainment cabinet that came with my 5er. The TV is able to move in front of the counter seen at the left of the picture pointing toward the back window where we have our recliners. Of course it does not fit inside the cabinet. There is a strap inside of the cabinet that holds down the flat screen. I use some pillows between the back of the TV and the sides of the cabinet and tighten the strap to snug the tv into the pillows to prevent vibration damage while the camper is moving. This has worked well for three years.

we have a factory 24 inch in our 2502 KS. It's on a full art arm from the factory. We have been leaving it up for the road. I do collapse it down so that it's next to the wall. There's enough friction in the travel that it won't swing out on it's own during travel, or at least it hasn't yet. There are straps on the back of the TV, But we don't feel they are needed because the articulations are so tight. I guess some arms may vary and you may need those straps. but we literally have to wrestle with our TV to get it away from the wall. Might be unique in nature seems like it is reading these comments. Point is we leave it up, I guess.

I added 2 of these, they included the straps. So far no problems since 2013.

I like that wall mount because it is removable, but wasn't sure about how secure it would fasten to the wall.
Instead, I chose one with a bigger wall footprint that is secured to the plywood backer plate in the wall. The plywood backer is in an odd place in the upper left corner of the wall instead of being centered. To make it removable, I added the RV mounts from PAW International to the mount and TV so it's secure and removable as well.

In mine the mount also fastened to the wood block in the wall. I bought the removable ones because I didn't trust them holding but after forgetting to take them down I saw they road with no problems.
