Just pick up a used washer/dryer to put in our 395xlr and was wondering about the vent. I know I have to cut the vent kit in but is there any certain place that it has to go?
The best thing to do is to build a small platform for it to sit on. That will allow you to extend the 2" heat run that is right where the washer sits. The vent can be placed in the sidewall with no problems. Just insure you don't have an issue with the awning leg. Make sure you use a good putty tape as a primary seal and a good sealant (caulk) around the outer edge.
Got the washer in its place but still have to do the dryer vent, but I see what you were talking about with the heat vent. Have to do some more measuring because I am going to build s cabinet to hide the washer while giving us more storage.
