Ww, I will get with you later about the fo as m upgrade. Like you, I reinforced the edging on the aft bed. I used grey L brackets either short screws. Nice and tight, otherwise a
person's weight could pull the dectative edging down.

LJ, the bed fix was Steve's idea. I was tossing around an idea of expanding on the idea and going with a king size foam mattress back there??? Anyone done that yet?
I think you said "foam" .. Sure, PM me and I'll give you email and phone into, if you want those.

WW,I just have the aft mattress that came with it. It works fine for the younger folks but some older folks that have slept there said they were not a fan but I think it's better than sleeping outside on the ground.

RVBiker,
Which brand bedliner spray did you use (if you don't mind sharing...)?

Not at all, I just used Rustoleum. Didn't go crazy with a major bedliner. I wire brushed it, then primed & 2 coats. We'll see how it lasts. I'm debating if I want to bedliner the whole tongue. I also want to paint the Blue Ox WD brackets & bars black. I got the hammered finish for those.

Good point. I also have to paint the rest of the frame before it gets bad.

RVB, from looking at your photos, which makes it a real post!!! The LP tank cover looks gray... how cool would it be to paint it a dark gray instead of black... nice work. I put two more 230AH 6 volt into the box I adapted on the MODesty's tongue today... made up custom battery cables (8) from #2/0 welding cable. I bought a new toy: a 16 ton crimper and some heat shrink... this is the required minimum for a new Magnum MS2012; a 2000w sinewave inverter / 50amp 4 stage charger... probably overkill! Next 3 solar panels and the Bogart equipment. I'm making my own mounts so it will be possible to tilt them if I ever want to. I bought some nice heavy duty angle aluminum from the recycler here... 4 pieces 42" long for $17.50... the bad news was the almost $30 in stainless bolts.
I noticed while working that there could be a safety issue. I noticed the battery wiring from the factory has to be wrong (IMO). B+ comes from the truck (7 pin) and arrives at the distribution / breaker bar directly to the bus and wasn't fused, but the hot coming back from the battery cutoff (which I am eliminating - won't need it) ran through a 30 amp fuse... it is also fused at 90A to the cut off. This doesn't make sense. I think coming back from the switch it should be unfused, but the B+ from the truck should be. Also, the break-away was directly on the battery feed without being fused. I can sort of see the logic in that, but everything should be fused... if the breakaway failed hard to ground, it could burn.

The LP tank cover does look gray but I turned the exposure up other wise all you saw was black and couldn't see any definition. It's not really as gray as it looks. But it still could use a coat of 303. And I do like the idea of painting it dark gray, lime a charcoal.

Have you seen using a heatgun to bring plastic back to black? It seems possible, with care... but with cover FAR away from the tanks...
I have yet to try it. On items with paint or DECALS close by, I don't think I would try it.

RVB, great job on the diamond plate, what did you use, last time I used a wheel on my drill, I think I wore more of the compound than the diamond plate did.
Thanks,

Thanks Sticks, it looks good from a distance but up close I'm not satisfied, but that's me, I'm picky. Haha... Anyway, I used Mother's Aluminum Polish and a foam ball on a drill, start out slow spreading it around then increase speed. Then I used the orbital buffer to buff it out. Did about a 1' square at a time. I might try one of those cloth wheels on the drill next time.

That is how I end up with compound all over me..cloth wheel and compound. My mothers foam didnt last long on the diamond plate and like you never satisfied with the outcome. I have used a metal polish before and that works good but your fingers are raw when your done.
Good luck.
