Kilday4 mentioned... rather asked if anyone has done a silverware drawer mod. I had that in back of my mind, or whats left of it and finally decided to give it a try. Granted the panel area below the cook top is pretty busy in mine, with the addition of the radiant heater I had installed months back. If the off-center installation (heater) bothers anyone, it can't be any more than myself. My reasoning was to not cut or drill into the cabinets any more than absolutely necessary. So, I only destroyed the removable panel and can restore it if I ever need to. That and a couple of screw holes to fill.

Anyway, here is my version of a silverware drawer. Sorry one picture is sideways, it isn't on my PC, so I don't know what that's about.

I really thought the 6 nice drawers would have been enough, but again, its all Kilday4s fault. By the way, I only had to buy the drawer catch, everything else is left of material from other projects.

The drawer front is like the cup holders, Florida native cherry I cut in Hamilton Cty, FL and have been dragging around for a decade or more.

It is screwed into the cabinet face, but have added blocks for more support. The gas lines were not in the way; only thing was the electronic part that is wired to the water heater. I don't know what it is, but moved it towards the outside wall inside the cabinet. The box that the drawer slides into and the drawer itself is constructed of 12mm blonde plywood from Lowes; the bottom of the drawer is reclaimed original paneling from this unit. I am sure you can see the spring and roller catch to "hopefully" keep it off the floor while traveling.

Looks good Wolf, thanks for the pics. I'll take the blame anytime as long as something productive comes from it!! LOL. We still have about six weeks before we get ours out of winter storage so that gives me time to study your info/pics and gather materials. This is one mod I definitely want to address. I will post back when complete.

I had eyeballed this spot before, but with the cover off, I couldn't see a way, at least using conventional means to support a drawer, then I thought... build a box to support the drawer and there you have it. BTW, I only had to cut those 1x2 strips (supporting the original panel) off flush to the front, stopping cutting where the bottom of the box sat; add triangular blocks screwed and glued to those strips, on each side just below the "box", but didn't fasten to them... only screwed the box at the front sides and into the top stile.... 8 screws and it all comes right out, in case serious waterheater work is needed. It is rock solid. Thanks for motivating me to take another look. Its a good thing I ordered the heavy duty package with 7000# axles and "H" rated tires

Today I drove past mine sitting in the snow at the dealer....

Last outing had a landing gear failure as well as the winterize valve being plumbed in wrong. Dropped it off with the no panic to repair statement in hopes they would keep it for the winter. Has worked out well for me so far!

Just drove past, didn't spend some quality time with her? Sounds like cheap storage for you. We had a night temps dropped to 21, so I was glad I blew out all the lines. I didn't like the idea of it being that cold inside, so I lit the gas catalytic heater on low and it kept the inside temp no lower than 46. I have a remote temp monitor and can see the temperature in the house. Also, one in the greenhouse. We are still running 10 degrees below average. It was in the seventies here today. I cleaned the shop all day.

I have not weighed it. So, as we know for every two to two and a half pounds in the garage (always as far forward as possible) takes one pound off the tongue. I run with 20 gallons of fresh all the time as well. Fresh water tank is quite forward, so for each pound of water about 7/10s of a pound is on the tongue. That puts 150# pounds of usefulness where it is needed. I also have other things as far forward such as an extra series 29 battery and full LP tanks on the tongue A frame, blocking and almost all hook up equipment (cords, hoses, etc) is kept in the forward stowage compartment. I can tell you it tows great. I have pulled it on a short trip without WDH and sway control to see how it feels adn it wasn't bad, with the Reese dual-cam properly adjusted its straight and true. I don't have to give sway a second thought.

Unfortunately no, I have scaled the setup but it was loaded at the time. Didn't try it empty to see the difference. Maybe this year I will as there is a scale close.

Nice work and photos Dave! Thanks for posting.

I have neglected to add the accumulator, but what a practical mod it is! May I ask, where did you buy it?

Also nice install on the surge protector; with plugs lets you bypass it just in case. I have a Progressive that plugs in at the pedestal, and hope I won't leave it at a camp site one day

Also, stupid me was trying to figure out Mojojo's comment about the camcorder... kept me looking until I realized the word was "spell checked" and he meant Camco. If the name / logos are like the ones I had on the old TH, they aren't just stickers... maybe printed with paint. Are they removable? I have 2 white covers (craigslist $5) and haven't put them on because I wanted black... but for letting in sunlight, the white has to be better. I wonder how much light the black ones let in???

Hey WW, my mods don't have you're artistry, but I have enjoyed upgrading my toy immensely. I will be copying your drawer under the bed idea. How did you mount the slides?

I got the accumulator on Amazon (like most of my parts). They are not always cheapest, but it's convenient and time is my most precious resource. I was pleasantly surprised when I traced all the lines by the water pump to find one that ended in a screw off plug. When I took the plug off, the accumulator screwed right on - that easy. I have to think that is what it was for.

The idea for bypass plugs on the surge suppressor was from reading FROG posts, so I cant take credit! Four plugs were $60, but I'd rather do things right than cheap.

You're right about the letters on the vent covers. they are not a sticker on mine, but part of the plastic cover. I would have to imagine the black covers would block all light - which might not be a bad idea over the bed.

Leesburg, 2014. Looking forward to next month!

Is Leesburg the bike rally? I went to either the first or second one they had. I'll have to check it out. Do you know a good place to camp there? You can PM is you have information,

I built a box that holds the drawer as you know; it fits snuggly inside the opening with the front flush to the as built face frame. I did have to trim the backer strip for the original panel, flush to the opening... (spruce 1x). The box is then screwed into the face frame top and sides (flush screws). I also screwed and glued triagular blocks just below the box on each side. The box rests on them and helps support since I didn't think the face frame was up to the task of supporting a 16" deep drawer. The blocks are not fastened to the box; it can be removed. I can get you measurements if you need them.

Thanks, Wolf.

I settled on Cuisinart combo microwave / convection / grill oven. If I knew how much work and time it was going to take to do it... you know that old story. I had to extend the cabinet forward about 2 inches and build a new face. But, being concerned about the high heat generated, I vented the top of the cabinet and ducted into the range hood (which is next to be upgraded), plus I lined the microwave cabinet with metal.

Mod 2 was cuttting the corners off the generator rack on front that HIT MY bumper and made a dent... while pulling forward, which I didn't think was possible. I would be good to make a tight turn slowly and have someone walking and checking clearance. Tip of the Day!

WW nice work on convection oven --- looks like it was installed at factory --- I'm defiantly changing that front box - first mod I'll be doing - I'm thinking I'll put on of those shiny prefab triangle metal boxes on the front - going to need more battery storage and security for batteries for solar system..... 7 days to pickup I think I will bring my SawZaw and cut the corners off at pickup
