what did you guys use for mounting a tv bracket?

I'd like to get my tv mounted on the wall, but the bolts they have included will go through the wall what have you guys used or done in order to get them mounted without it giving you an unintended hook in the bath?

My mount came with screws. I screwed it to a stud in the garage. Catalog Item # 51564. It worked great.

mind came with lag bolts....they were too long also....I just measured the wall thickness, trimmed them back, put the grinder to the end to give it back a little taper and screwed in. no problems...if you cut and taper, just make sure when you grind do it so the thread will start and isn't blunt....My bracket is the articulating arm style and holds a 42 inch.
