As long as you mount to the studs, it should hold a 42" no problem. You could probably go up to a 46" if you got creative with the mount.

FYI NS, the TV wall in living room has a full 2x6 on the flat centered on that wall, between the sliding doors floor to ceiling. That would be the same stud in the master bedroom don't know about the garage. Just get the mount centered within that 5-1/2" and watch screw / lag length. I would say a 46" would work great... its all about the strength of the mount. You might want to consider taking down the TV while traveling. I leave mine up but have cleats on the ceiling and support with straps to take the weight.

Play Harder,
Just checking in on the "process" for the delivery of your new TH. Have you been given updates on the build of your new TH thru out the build? Do you have conformation that on 3/23 (if I remember right...) you will be able to pick up your new TH?

I'm just so excited to get my new TH, I want to make sure I have realistic expectations for my delivery...

Thanks...

Thanks for the info . I think I'll keep my 42" and look for a good mount and plan on straps when in motion , or one that will allow me to remove TV for travel , the TV uses about 90watts add on that a dvd player small wattage use , but the dish hopper is a bit more . Glad i got the 4000/3500 champion . my first task will be making it quite but for 399 just could not pass up

Where does the TV end and the wall start? Looks like all TV to me. Now that will make for one great rainy day camping.

Its just me being silly. I did see a home automation installer attach some kind of heavy duty swivel mount sideways and didn't realize it until he tried to attach the very large flatscreen. Bad thing was several tradesmen were there to laugh "with" him!

I do plan on putting in one of those swing down ceiling TV mounts for better viewing from the recliners - hopefully I can find something good to mount bracket to - once I X-Ray the ceiling 😃

The ceiling has wood trusses. I wouldn't trust on truss to support TV and mount. Maybe you will figure out a way. Mine is on a swing out and tilt mount from Wally world. I can aim it directly at the sofa. I have straps to the ceiling to protect the TV while on the road... hmmm.... screwed to a single truss.

What size TV

That why I plan to X-ray the ceiling and find a good location to cut a hole and install a bracket between 2 trusses to mount the ceiling TV bracket to and a painted matching aluminum cover - and hopefully I can wallfish the wires to that location while in the ceiling too.

This will not happen within the first 45 days but expect by the of summer --

WolfWhistle,
Do you have any pictures of this setup? I may have seen it in the "what have you done...." post but I'm not sure if it was yours or not.

Thanks...
