Great idea ! I'll try that next time.
I normally pump it in to the city connection and then pump some into the rinse line.

I use the factory winterizing draw tube that's right behind my blue hose in the pic to pull in the antifreeze with my water pump. Winterize the rig then pump a bit into the black tank flush.

Youroo I dont call mineral deposits from hard water crud... Its just minerals.. that's why I thought you were talking holding tanks. The deposits form on the heating element; then fall to the bottom of the tank. How the heck can these deposits get "downstream" into the water system when they're coming out of the HW tank while draining happily away? They really come out when i give it a shot of air with all faucets closed to further remove more water. You have to better explain how deposits on the bottom of the tank gets up into the water system. I don't see how that is possible.

Easy,Members have been given BAD Info about opening their Low Point Drains Before Bypassing the W/H! This Can/Does draw (White Crud) downstream! It will not show its Ugly Head until Spring when they ask,(Why is my Faucets running slow and the Screens are plugged with White Flakes)? You can call it (Minerals) if you feel better but to Me and Many others it is (White Crud) that comes out of the W/H Tank and runs on the ground or shop floor! If I were to buy a cup of Coffee and it had your (Minerals) in the bottom of the Cup,I would ask for My $$ back! Youroo!!

Still say if its running out of the tank while the taps are closed it can't run toward the taps. You have minerals in your coffee just not chunks. What do you think plugs up coffee makers? If it could harm us, we would all be dead by now. :us-flag-waving

What happened to lined HW heaters? My last rig, a 2013 Road Warrior, had a lined tank and no sacrificial anode. Just a drain plug. Maybe a different brand than XLR uses?

I think Atwood uses a fiberglass lined tank ... so no need for a anode

Yep, I think the RW had an Atwood tank. Better system. I really like the new option of Girard on demand HW. It would appear it's a drop in replacement for the current tanks. I'd love to upgrade it along with my genset to the EFI version... Time to go buy a scratch ticket...

This is accurate and I, too, would replace with an Atwood.
