Wiring help - 29HFS

I discovered my battery disconnect does not work on my new 29HFS. With shore power unplugged I get 12V power with the switch in the on and off position. I assumed a bad switch, so I disconnected it and both cables are always hot. Hmmmm...obviously a wiring error.

I am an electrical engineer so figuring it out would not be an issue IF the wiring was a bit more accessible, but we all know how that is. Sooo...my starting point...does anyone have a description of the wiring and breaker functions that are on the front side of the frame right behind the batteries? A number of breakers, bus bars, and lots of cables there.

If I remember correctly I once saw a picture someplace in the forum where someone had described each breaker and cable but I sure can't find it. And for that matter, an overall wiring diagram would be great if that is available somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the breakers and see if any of the terminals on the ends of the wires are touching one another.

Thank you Bob. I will look at that. I also found an extensive thread on the subject by WolfWhistle far down in this forum.

I went round and round trying to help out a gentleman and his symptom was like your's. Down on the buss / breaker (left front frame near batteries) there was a strap, that probably the dealer installed that essentially bypassed the BCO.

Let me see if I can find the picture. I couldn't find the original clean pic, but look at the wire I am pointing to with RED arrows... it is a strap that negates the BCO. If you have one REMOVE it.

I bet the dealer did it to power up the unit when they didn't know the BCO was operated. Just a hunch.

Problem solved. When I picked it up at the dealer there was a faulty breaker that the service tech replaced. When he installed the new one he installed it under the bus bar (first photo) instead of the insulated slot (second photo).

Thanks for the help!
