XLR 16' Garage 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

Getting ready to pick up our new 5th wheel. It's a 2013 XLR Viper with a 16' garage. Couldn't find a toy hauler that would fit a full size trike & bike but the Viper should be perfect. Anyone else have the smaller Viper (14' garage) and what do you think of it? What bikes/trikes do you haul in it?

Don't have one but welcome to the forums. You can learn a lot here, and hope you can contribute. Might check the toy hauler forums for answers to your questions.

I'll move your thread to that forum so others with the unit can find it easier.

Good to have you on-board!

We haven't even seen it. Can't even find it on the Forest River website. Going to see it in person when we pick it up. Sure hope we like it!

You will it is awesome are you getting it from National rv in Detroit mi? If so just make sure you have everything before you leave. They forgot the last two center caps for the wheels, but they were good about getting them to us later. We just camped for the first time last weekend in st Augustine fl and we loved it. We found a couple of things to repair. The DVD player ate the DVD, the cable hookup was not wired. The hot water heater relief valve leaked and was repaired under warranty.

OMG that's all I can say. This camper is absolutely awesome! It is so much more than we ever expected and we're just thrilled. Taking it home to NY tomorrow after a long day here in Detroit. 2 weeks from today she'll be at Americade with 2 very happy campers!

For the past week our camper has been in the shop. Several problems-sending unit for the fuel tank line was pinched and wires were burnt, living room slide was misaligned which resulted in black grease stains on tan carpet, mattress permanently sagged after 8 nights and it was supposed to be a premium pillow top, shower door leaks, toilet doesn't hold water, fold down bed in rear cargo doesn't fold down evenly, 12v outlet at head of bed doesn't work. All under warranty.
Let me know what they do about your camper.

We are having the same problem with the living room slide and the stain. It is more so on the forward end. Our shower leaks, the sink leaks, the 110 to 12 volt convertor has probably never worked, the mattress is flat after only a few nights, and the lippet frame is cracked. Make sure you keep an eye on the front end.

XLR Viper 305v16

Just joined the forum to follow and learn about the 305v16. Initially very excited given the unique garage size and weight specs, but concerned about some of the recent posts. Have these issues been corrected to your satisfaction? Please share any thoughts. Thank you.

Still waiting for Forest River to do something about the mattress and the black stains on the tan carpet from the living room slide being misaligned. We are not happy that these issues could not be resolved by 2 dealers especially when the trailer was only days old when the issues were discovered.
We tow it with a 2007 Chevy 3500 diesel dually and it strains that at times. It's a big, big trailer.

Getting closer to pickup

Got a appointment to pickup at dealer Sat. Will be using the "PDI" checklist. Three reasons: 1) So I will know how to properly care and use everything, 2) if there is a problem it can be fixed, 3rd) save time and money in all the logistics if there is a problem. But I guess there is actually four. And that is: 4) to see if I can have an opportunity to turn a few negative comments on the 305V16 to positive. I just wonder how many 305V16 have been made, how many have been purchased, ... My wife and I look forward to using it.

We still have 3 issues not resolved.
1. Mattress
2. Non working light over bed
3. Black stains on the tan carpet from slide out.

It has now been 6 months and Forest River has not resolved the problems. Now you all know what to expect from Forest River....
