Question XLR 390V10 Gas Tanks

Have put the unit up for the season, and I went to check the fuel level on the generator tank. I made sure that the Fuel Pump switch was turned on at the Master Panel. When I pressed the switch 1 time to turn it ON, nothing happened. Needles stayed on Empty, but I know there is fuel in the tank. The last time I looked at the level was when I was on shore power. Should not the Onan 5.5 generator provide power for that circuit???? Anybody have any ideas....

Same problem....... took it to dealer, the shop guys worked on it for 2.5 hours. They said they found nothing wrong that they added about 5 gallons in the 30 gallon tank and the gauges for both started working. They wanted me to pay for the 2.5 hours..... when they said nothing was wrong.
I told them if it took 2.5 hours to come to that conclusion that I wouldn't pay for stupidity.
Still isn't fixed.
Wouldn't a schematic of the trailer help with these questions.?????

Thanks for your input "chpence1". I agree that a schematic would be very helpful. I may try and put some fuel in the main tank, with a large amount of preservative, and see if that makes a difference.
The part that confuses me, did the techs take that 5 gallons of fuel back out of your main tank and that is why it is still not working??

Initially the fuel gauges and pump on 30 gallon tank didn't work with about 15 gallon fuel in 30 gallon tank and 18 tank full.
The pump on switch was on / active.
It appeared to me to be in the rats nest of jellied wires near the gauges.
Shortly there after the pump again refused to run which wasn't really a problem because we only envisioned needing it if the 18 ran dry and we needed to feed the genset.
Afterwards on our trip to Montana we were forced to refill 18 gallon after using only about 5 gallons.
I assume because the tanks are so long and shallow it's not possible.to get much out before refilling.
