XLR Recall

Just saw this on another forum and thought I'd share it here.

Forest River Recalls Trailers For Electrical Issue | RV Business

[quote]Forest River Inc. is recalling 634 model year 2015 and 2016 XLR travel trailers due to a possible problem with an electrical inlet on the RVs.
The Elkhart Truth reported that the recall impacts the company’s T29HFS, T31FDK, T31FQSL, T30FQSL, T21FQSL, T24FQSL, T24HFS, T27HFS, T28TQDL and T30HDS models manufactured between Oct. 20, 2014, and July 14, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The electrical inlet used to connect the RVs to external electrical sources may have been strained during the assembly process, which could cause the wire to loosen at the inlet connector.

The recall is expected to begin Sept. 30. Forest River will notify the owners of all affected vehicles and dealers will rewire the connector free of charge./quote]

You remember it was JohnRiordan who first posted with his melted plug due to loose wiring.

The terrific service guys onsite at the rally came by this morning and replaced all eight XLRs' ports without us even asking. They said they also replaced all the ones on the lot before they headed to the dealers.

What a great company!

Mine was built in the beginning of December of 2014. I ended up ordering and installing a furrion outlet, I need to try and see if I can get some money back on that.
