2016 Stealth 2313 Awning

So it would have been nice if the people who the Stealth would have put more thought in the Awning. Did they not realize you can not have the door open when the awning is open? Or was i doing something wrong? What have others done to overcome this flaw?

Hey Mkccmc, depending on what awning you have you will have two answers. If you have the electric version then yes you have an issue and it needs to be looked at. The electric versions are preset at the factory to get the height you need to be able to clear the doors.
If you have a manual version, then it's a matter if you are sliding the awning arms up high enough and locking them in place to give you enough clearance. Let me know which version you have and hopefully we can be of more help

Hey Polaris guy,
Thanks for the reply. As far as the awning goes I was referring to the fact that with the awning open you can not fully open the door and latch it open. Just think they should have put some thought into. I guess I can just tie it back to the awning when it's open.

You have a problem of some sort as our 2313 as the electric awing and in 3 years we have never had an issue with the door contacting the awningClick image for larger version

Hey Stealth 13,
As far as the door touching the awning that is not the problem. The door can not be fully opened and latched to the trailer. If you are facing door. The support arm that raises the awning prevents the door from fully opening when awning is raised to full open position.

Do you have a the long latching arm. We have no trouble with the life arms either my door will hit the rubber stop awning out or not.
Sounds like they mounted it wrong so sorry

Yeah they definitely messed up on the mounting...I have about 1.5" space between door and awning arm.

How does that stuff get by QC

My 2012 Flagstaff 8528 RKWS has the same problem, BUT, it has a factory installed gas strut on the door that limited it to opening only 90°. I moved both anchors 2" closer to the door hinge which allows the door to open to within 1" of the awning strut and also helps close the door when it gets within about 6" of being closed.

When I was picking up my new 2313, the dealer even closed the awning on the open door... with a 'thats new' comment after.

Yeah i guess you gotta just find a way to tie door open and make sure its closed when you bring in awning. I did the same thing the first time i used it.
