Air Conditioner Electrical Arcing Heads Up

While running the AC (Dometic) on my 2015 WA2715 the trailer filled with an acrid electrical burning smell. When we opened the junction box found the insulation burned and two wires that had been arcing. All of the wire nuts had been improperly installed and a ton of electrical tape had been used. All the tape was removed, wires repaired, and new wire nuts installed.

Lucky you found that, who knows it could have started a fire. Good detective work....

PolarisGuy- since making the repairs I described everything is normal. Running the AC every afternoon in the Arizona heat without problem. Next time you clean your filter it might be prudent to open that junction box and have a look for any sign of arcing/burning.
