Usually takes about 8 hours for fridge to get cold. Is the freezer OK?

When you say it "Turns On" what do you mean? The light indicating "Auto" mode illuminates? Or you are actually hearing the igniter spark and then the sound of the propane flame indicating ignition actually occurred and there is a flame heating the liquid tank?

Does yours have the option of selecting "Gas" only by depressing a button or do you only have the "Auto" option?

Does the "Check" lamp come on after a few minutes?

Are you hooked up the shore power while you are checking for propane operation?

And, as previously asked, have you given it sufficient time to start feeling the effects of cooling down?

All of this information may help someone here help you.

What he said plus--
does it cool on electric?
Have you visually verified that it's actually got a flame on LP mode?
Age make and model would also help.

I am dry camping in Glamis. When I turn on the fridge on auto, I hear the propane spark and hear flame burning. I turned on the fridge last night and 10 hours later fridge and freezer are warm.

Well, based on that information, in my opinion, which may not be worth much, you have a major issue that is not gonna be resolved with a quick fix out in the field.

Someone else here may have a different outlook, but it would seem to me if you have the burner working/heating and you're not getting the cooling effect/heat exchange then there is a problem that could be major repair time.

Did it cool at home on electric before you got out on your camping trip?

Have you smelled or saw any type of ammonia leak?

We leave our trailer in storage out here so do not know if unit works on electric. Hopefully this will be covered under the warranty. I pushed the second year warranty when we bought this trailer.

The trailer is level

Have you checked your battery voltage with a multimeter...need to be above 12 volts for proper operation....Is propane supply adequate?

Here is manual in case you don't have...

Isn't there some sort of reset button located (hidden) on the fridge flue on the outside? Have to remove the exterior fridge grill and the flue is usually on the right hand side of the opening. Just wondering...............

Batteries are fine, I have solar on my trailer.
Thanks for the manual. I purchased the second year warranty from forest river directly. Will they cover this? Also I am now having an issue with propane smell in the trailer when the water heater is on. Anyone else have this issue?

Dumb question but is the little slide thing that holds the thermo bulb up in the cooling fins on the back wall inside the fridge . The higher you slide it the cooler the fridge gets mine slips down occasionally .

Try moving it up the fins, get a bottle of water mixed with dish soap and spray all the gas lines you can access if it starts to blow bubbles its leaking also if you smell gas don't touch any switches open everything up and air it out.

Check the heat tube on the fridge . wasp nest,or other blockage , if it's heating it should be cooling , if your not level it won't cool . in my popup after a week or two of use the fridge would stop working . seems it would get too hot , the flow of ammonia would stop . If i shut it down for a few hrs let it cool off it would be good again . same can be with the hot water heater . sounds like your smelling exhaust gas , if it were a propane leak you would smell it all the time the propane is on . if you just smell when HWH is running check the vent pipe

Hi the trailer needs to be level!!!! If the trailer is not level liquid refrigerant that is in the refrigerator may get trapped in low spots not allowing it to flow back though gravity back to the tank that is heated to start the cooling process.
If the trailer is level and not working the refrigerator most likely has developed a leak and will need to be serviced

Hope this helps Tim

I think Your unit Refer has a 2 year warranty from Dometic. Call them and take it to there service rep. Most dealers do not know how to troubleshoot them. They have dealers all over....You will need the model# and serial#.

My Dometic in my '14 WA2313 had a problem from day one. It wouldn't get cold enough and when out on the road would quit cooling all together. I think it was partially clogged.

It was in the shop four or five times and they always said it was fine. I eventually called Dometic directly and got a high level warranty person involved. Once I thoroughly explained everything to her she had a new one overnighted and my shop put it in. Has worked great ever since.

Dometic has great customer service once you find the right person.
