Filling the onboard fuel tank on a 2313

I tried one time to fill the onboard fuel tank at the gas station but stopped when fuel come shooting back out. It seemed to pressurize the tank so as I filled. I didn't care right then so I just stopped.

I am wondering if this is normal and a "special" procedure is necessary in order to get the job done.

It seems the fill hose is rather long and level or even possibly up-hill to the tank.

Maybe I just have to fill it really slow.

Just asking.....

I have the same problem. While I have never tried to fill it at a gas station, I use a 5 gallon can, and it takes forever. I ended up getting a funnel with a long flexible tube, and pour slowly. It appears, as you said, the angle is flat. I have thought about pulling one side up on blocks to help create an angle and see if that helps.

Funny you should say that.

That I is EXACTLY what I was going to try! Tilting the trailer, funnel, long hose, and 5 gal gas can.

If that works then fine, seems like it should be designed to fill normally though. Maybe the engineers never tried to fill it.

Very odd and disappointing. Oh well.

Thanks.

Ive tried a couple different methods and have only had a little splash back at most. I find the easiest way for me is to insert and hold the nozzle upside down. It is weird that the filler neck for the fuel tank seems to be literally horizontal. You think Forest River would have given a slight angle to it at least...I usually have to use a funnel in order to drop my fuel stabilizer in...

I have a cheep household 5 gal can with a small spout that fits into the filler neck. It's a pain but better than using my heavy duty jugs with the bigger hoses. I haven't tried a gas station yet, maybe I won't bother based on comments above
