Gas or Gas/Elec Water Heater

I'd be able to answer this myself if my 2013 SS1913 wasn't at the dealer, which is where it's been for most of the 10 months I've owned it - but that's another story... Also another story was the worthless walkthrough I received from the dealer when I picked it up.

So, I was talking with another RV'er today who asked whether I had a gas or gas/elec water heater. I know that it's a Suburban 6 Gal - does anyone know whether it will run on shore power also?

It's most likely both.
Electric runs on shore power.
Gas runs on 12v

It's possible but not likely that it's gas only but it would still be 12v

With that being said when hooked to shore you can use both gas and electric for quicker recovery times.

I just did a search on your Stealth and found this.

Stealth Toy Hauler Travel Trailer Features / Options by Forest River

It lists a '6 gal DSI Water Heater w/ 10.2 Recovery' which would indicate a LP water heater. No mention of electric option.

Thanks All. Sounds like it's just a gas unit. I'll verify when I get it back from the dealer.

Cheers!
