How to use the black tank flush??

We just bought our first Toy Hauler a 2014 Stealth WA2313. Just coming from our first trip out and trying to dump the grey & black. We got both tanks emptied but can't figure out how to use the black tank flush? So, we flushed the toilet several times until the black tank ran clear. Does anyone know how to use the black tank flush?

With your black tank dump valve open connect a hose form the water source to you black tank flush inlet. Turn the water on and the flush will rinse/flush out your black tank. If you have a clear elbow on your sewer connection you will see it run clear. Not that difficult. Just make sure you have the dump valve open so that the toilet does not overflow from the inside.

We did that setup like you described but when we turned the water on it started to leak through our furnace vent in side. Also, we never saw water come from the sewer hose. Do we need to have our water pump or generator on?

Sounds like another check valve improperly installed. No you don't need the gen or wp on. You'll have to check the plumbing behind where you hook up your hose

do not leave the hose on black tank flush when not in use, because some idiot might turn it on with black tank closed. Don't ask me how I know this��.

I just bought a 2015 Salem CruiseLite 241QBXL. Does this have the black water flush inlet mentioned? If so, where would I find this?

It is a hose connection located above the dump valve and say's "Black tank flush". I don't think yours comes with one.

We use our black tank flush all the time. it is great but it does present a question. There is a warning to make sure that the tank is open before using the flush. I know we have a large black tank and the best flush we get is if we empty a fairly full tank. Going out for just a weekend doesn't really get a lot of water into the tank and I find myself emptying the tank with the flush running and then closing the valve for a few minutes to partially fill the tank and drain it again (still flushing). The big rush of water from a partially filled tank really help carry the debris out and makes the flush work better.

My question . . . is leaving the tank open necessary to prevent an overflow of water through the toilet in the trailer or is there a pressure build up I am not aware of if the valve is closed and I'm adding water through the flush inlet?

How do ya'll do your flushing?

That's exactly it. It's amazingly easy to turn the water on and then get distracted for one reason or another.

Pull the valve open turn the water on. When it is clear turn the water off and dump the grey tanks.

Just flushed mine a few minutes ago before leaving for a trip. Did like everyone said open the black tank valve and ran the flush for about 30 minutes. The gauge works fine now. Also added some laundry detergent and calgon water softener to coat the sides of the tank as we go along the road.

Are you sure that is the BLACK TANK FLUSH and not the inlet to the fresh water tank?

I would think they would put it near the dump valve.

If you close your valve for a period of time while the flush is running(I do), don't become distracted. 2 minutes is all the excitement I can stand. Set a timer if you have to.

Definitely, Have used it often. Just need to have a longer hose to use it

Our flush is on the opposite side as well ironically not far from the fresh water fill. I will backfill mine but only for a few seconds and I would never walk away from it with the valve closed while flushing. Read stories of black water geysers erupting from the roof vents when someone got distracted.
