Not sure why they wouldn't make the exterior light LED, aside from weather issues. LED lights put out zero UV light, meaning that bugs are not attracted to them. CFL, incandescent and halogen all put out UV light. I replaced all the bulbs in the trailer with pretty good ones, which cut the power usage drastically. I measured that each of the T10 bulbs were using 25 watts. The LED bulbs put out fewer lumens (I measured with a light meter), but only use 1.5w. Yes, that's right, the incandescent bulb uses more than 16 times the energy the LED bulbs do. When boondocking, lights and furnace fan are the largest consumers of power. Now almost all the lights in the trailer equal one of the old bulbs, lol.
I also tested the furnace fan, and it used about 115w.
Isn't that cool, we changed the whole house over to LED's last winter - no
bugs and our trailer has all LED's, no bugs either, guess they're out visiting the neighbours
