Problem after Problem

Ok...So I've had my WA2916 for maybe 3 months now and have acquired a somewhat lengthy (lengthy for me may not be lengthy for others) list of probelms that keep popping up. Just venting my frustruation here after paying a decent amount of money for this Forest River toyhauler which seems to definitely lack a QC Department.

1. Toilet base leaking onto floor. Tightened connection and seems to not leak anymore..............

2. When the ramp door is closed I can see light around the roadside top radius edge.

3. Multiple drawer guides broken and flinging open during transit...Command Strips are my best friend till I take it in to have them fixed.

4. Kitchen-to-bedroom door opens and smacks around during transit.

5. Kitchen drain leaked all over the floor. (My model has a kitchen slide and during my own investigation i found the flexible drain line that is suppossed to clamp to the p-trap totally disconnected)

6. One of my outside speakers is really fuzzy

7. Kitchen window night shade does not stay up

8. Propane does not work when valve is turned to roadside bottle.

9. Kitchen island left indentation on floor from scraping when slide is in

10. Couch/Roadside window will not slide open

11. TV does not show picture for DVD player anymore (Had a movie on for my daughter, held the switch to pull the awning out and when the awning reached its maximum (stopped and kind of bumps) the TV turned to "No Signal" while still in AV mode.

One last rant....will the left over slivers of material and debris from construction of this things EVER stop coming out of the cracks and crevices??? Weve taken this rig out about 6-7 times and i still seem to collect a dust pan full of metal shavings, wood shavings, other misc. debris, and screws that falls out from everywhere..........

I just didn't know if everyone experiences this garbage or if it's my luck...
My dealer is somewhat close and I really don't have time to fix it myself otherwise I would, just want to take advantage of my warranty too while it still exists...thanks MUD

I hope your dealer is better than mine at fixing thing. I've had quit a list myself and today another one fixing my generator with 7 hrs on it. Found the fuel line smashed closed in 2 places along the fuel line holders that are suppose to protect the fuel lines. I can fix anything being a mechanical, electrical person but after 35 yrs of fixing designing stuff I'm tired of it. No one takes pride in their work it seems and $65 to $70k it still doesn't matter no pride from producers of products. Makes me wonder what people do that can't fix there products their selves . They don't they are at the mercy of their incompetent dealer which is sad for the RV industry.

I like my toy hauler but only because I've fixed it like it was suppose to be off the assembly line. I hope my bugs are worked out of it but I'm sure this weekend after boondocking I'll find more but this time I'll have power from my genny to make coffee and watch one of the 3 TV's to see the news. Thanks to me for another repair I made. LOL

I definitely second that. I find most everyone to be like that...I just recently purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee and was battling the dealer to fix a FUEL LEAK, and a couple other things...got the run around and told it was fixed twice. Come to find out they didnt touch the damn thing after sitting on their lot for almost 2 weeks, climbed the chain of command and literally got hung up on by their GM.........

I fix most stuff myself but lately just cant find the time to, and unfortuantely, will be forced to lean on the dealer and Forest Riverfor this one. Are the Amish the only ones who build put quality craftsmanship into their products now adays?

Sadly it is all too common these days and it is not limited to forest river as I see these same issues popping up on other owners forums and rv.net. Mine is going back to the factory as soon as I winterize it. Your list is actually shorter than mine and I have some more major issues on mine. We already fixed the hole in the propane line from the slide pinching a poorly routed line to my fridge. Every one of my 4 slides has had a major issue. The list goes on. My dealership has been great and is only an hour away but we do fix simple Things ourselves (ie replaced propane line with the part sent to us). Gary from forest river has been great too. No questions asked, send it back for them to fix. Now hopefully we get it back in time for the spring season. I wish you luck with yours.

Everyone that buys a new trailer, I can't say this enough. Camp in your driveway for a weekend BEFORE taking the trailer on an actual camping trip. This way you will you find all the issues right away and can take it back to the dealer for an immediate fix. Thank goodness only a few minor issues with my 2014 WA2715.

The thing is that an average of about 2 things have happened over the past 5-6 trips...I just wonder what'll be next...

Welcome to the club. The warranty on my 2014 SS1913 just ended last week. During the first year of ownership, I was able to log only 20 nights camping, as the trailer spent 46% of it's first year at the dealer having warranty work performed. I have 14 or 15 work orders in the binder so far. Among the many issues encountered, I had the light leak issue with the ramp door. They tried to fix it on 3 different visits. In the end, all they did was bend the flange at the bottom of the door, then tell me that's how it came from the factory and I had never noticed. It's still not fixed, and now I have light from the bottom edge too!

This things are hand-built, so some mistakes are bound to happen. Add that to the apparently missing factory QC process and you get a customer satisfaction process that seems to land squarely on the dealers and their warranty service offerings. Sadly, it seems that my dealer was too busy to care that I was satisfied with my purchase after I drove off their lot. I've been looking forward to my warranty running out so that I can fix things that they could never seem to get right.

Next time, maybe I'll save the headache and buy a used unit that someone else has already QC'd.

(Sorry for the rant - but I DO feel much better now!)

I was afraid i would be screwed on the ramp door issue....sigh......it makes me wonder what people do when this sort of stuff happens to their $200K+ Diesel Pusher Motorhomes??? Better believe if i spent hundreds of thousands of dollars id be driving that moho through the front of their building....

You know - whenever I'm at my dealer (which, is pretty often) I see the service department's pickup lane stacked with those 200K+ pushers. Make's me wonder if the priority of the service is correlated to the amount spent. :/

There's no doubt in my mind the price paid does correlate with the way your treated but I still wonder if these high dollar rigs lack a QC dept and have just as many problems as we do to begin with?....
