Propane Quick Connect

Has anyone used their quick connect propane connection?

I finally broke down and bought a MB Sturgis hose that connects directly to my weber q100 from the propane connecter under the trailer.

Super excited only to be let down, the system wouldn't pump out enough propane to give to the grill enough juice to get hot. (Even with the burner set to high, the flame was barely on)

I tried adjusting the regulator on the trailers propane tanks, it did nothing.

Was I mistaken, is this quick connect propane system not designed for small grills?

The little weber probably has a regulator built in... do I need to disable that thing too?

You must remove the regulator from your grill.

My Weber Q 1200 grill and converter kit just arrived yesterday so I haven't had a chance to hook it up yet, but this is what I'm going to try... I also want to get another quick connect fitting to put on the removed regulator to retain the use of the portable tanks.

Is that grill a high or low pressure grill? If it is a high pressure and you are hooking into you propane plumbing on you camper, you may be only getting low pressure. You may need to add a high pressure regulator in front of you low pressure regulator with a tee that runs your grill.

I have an outdoor high pressure stove that requires 16 pounds of pressure. I have to use an adjustable regulator that will give that much pressure. I placed it in front of the low pressure regulator with a tee so I can connect my outdoor stove. Also, normally a quick connect is not for high pressure. Those are for low pressure.

I bought a separate hose and remove the tank and connect to my weber. Works great. A little inconvenient moving the tank tho.

That's all you have to do.

Yes, I currently have a normal 20lb tank I lug around, I don't bother removing one of the big tanks in the trailer, that's too much
