2012 Crusader Axle

I know the 2012 Crusader has a Dexter axle. Which Bearing system is used? The traditional bearings that are removed and greased...or the E-Z lube with the Zerk fittings...or the sealed bearings that require special tools to remove the bearing?

Welcome to the forum!

Here's a link to Dexter axle replacement parts... TRAILER AXLE BEARING KITS

Looks like the only difference of EZ lube vs non is the seal and cap. If you pop off the bearing cap, the EZ lube will have the zerk fitting there. Lots of youtube videos for bearing repacking/replacement.

The sealed bearing type is much more difficult to lube than the other two. Just want to know which type is used.

I think most, if not all manufacturers are using the EZ lube axle bearings now and have been for quite a few years.

Thanks about your 2012 having E-Z lube. That's the type I prefer.

My 2012 290 RLT has EZ lube. I will not use the zert again.
I greased as per lippert instructions. I pulled the hubs this year to find grease behind 3 of 4 seals.
I also found that the retaining clips for the magnets where not installed. This is the 1st time I have pulled the wheels.
I will pull them each year and grease the old fashion way.

That came from the factory like that? Did your breaks even work?

I think the factory installed the bearings like you would normally, but did not grease them through the EZ lube. I had breaks until I greased them this year. I made a trip 2 weeks ago and noticed that the breaks were not working properly. I have contacted Lippert and sent the pictures today. But I don't expect them to respond.
