I bought our Sanibel 3500 in January of 2015. I'm the second owner, the first owner for whatever reason didn't use it so the flex problem never showed it's ugly head until I got it and put some miles on it.
I'm told that it's not covered by warranty because I'm the second owner!
Has anyone dealt with the flex problem out of warranty. I think they need to step up and take care of the problem. This is not an isolated issue, from what I'm hearing this has happened on a number of RV'S!
Yeah, we feel your pain. We bought a new Crusader with this concern, ours looks like that but FR denies any problem. We wanted to buy a Sanibel but at this point I don't think another FR product will be coming our way anytime soon. Ours is only like this on the curb side. With the weight on the pin, no gap.
Attached is the instructions for checking upper deck frame flex from Lippert. Normal flex is up to 1/8". We have the TrailAir pin box to help reduce the shock to the frame when towing. I also installed Air Lift 5000 air bags on the truck to prevent the shock of bottoming out. Our Sanibel 3600 passes the frame flex test but still pushes a small amount of caulk out both sides. We have towed 4 times from N.E. Ohio to Maryland coast with no changes in frame flex.

FR referred me to Lippert when they (FR) washed there hands of the problem and told me they would not fix it.
Sent photos to Lippert and they told me that they are waiting for response from FR on how proceed. Lippert said the problem is that FR welds in some clips that hold the wall and floor together, they crack and break over time. When they break the outer wall separates from the floor!!!!!
This is a problem the day these RV's leave the factory! This should be a recall. It's not a isolated issue.

How many owners have had is flex problem?
Really it's not a warranty problem, it's a safety issue, does not matter how many owners, Sanibel has been building units known to be suffering with this problem for years now, you should be contacting the Home | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) because this is a safety issue and all road users are at risk while unsafe units continue to be made.
