318BHS A/C units

Considering the above. Will be using it in SC and my concern is will the standard 13500 BTU unit handle a hot Myrtle Beach day or should I insist on getting the 15000 BTU unit? Will there be that big a difference?

a hot myrtle beach day (or destin in our case) the 13.5 is gonna struggle to keep the whole thing cool unless ya can find lots of shade, open the doors little, and dont have 4 or more people in there.....

the diff in cooling between the single 13.5 and the dual 15k is quite large...after a few outings in our in laws 26ft jayco with a single 13.5 unit, we pretty much KNEW that down here in west tx, the dual 15k units were mandatory for our sanity.....and it gets hot/humid down there too!!

I had the same dilemma just a few months ago. Ultimately I chose the 50amp service with the 2 15k AC units and I am glad we did. It gets hot down here in Texas and humid too... probably similar to SC weather for sure. I would make the same decision again.

I have been to myrtle beach with my 318bhs..with the single ac 13.5 unit. It runs a lot , but it kept it cool inside, not ice cold, but cool...I'm from new York though so its not always hot here...although this summer has been brutal. July was 90 + all the time...and my unit did not have a problem cooling down...I just noticed it ran more..

i wish my wife could deal with "cool" and be happy......but alas, she is pregnant, always hot, and in the end, if i wanted to do ANY camping this year it was 2 a/c or stay in hotels in concrete jungles while she shopped....LOL....in any case, its just too hot out here for anything else anyway....98 is a nice and cool day in the summer anymore in these parts....and then with the baby next summer, i KNOW there is no way we would go out without the dual a/c... mommas new lil "princess" aint gonna be sleeping in a 80 degree trailer...haha...

I have to say with my two little ones and the heat we have had this summer my coach was around70-72. So not too bad. By all means though if you are buying new and the charge for the dual ac is not that much go for it...I'm sure if I upgrade back to a fiver in the upcoming years I'll be looking at 50 amp/ dual ac as well..

Here in new York where we camp, it's hard to even find 50 amp service.

yeah...it would be a tougher decision if i lived as far north as you.....might be hard to justify the cost for little you may actually need dual 15k units...this summer has been a dual ac everyday all day affair in west texas....this week we have a "cold front" coming so we will only see mid 90s...LOL

and i know what you mean about 50amp service. its just another thing to worry about when you are looking for somewhere to stay. While my trailer works fine on 30amp we cant run both units and have to watch dryers and toasters....on 50 amp, we can pretty much run everything in the trailer AND both ac....not to mention you have to deal with that ANACONDA of a cable....i now have a 50fter, but even the 25ftr is a BEAST!! lol

im not sure how much more the dual ac and 50 amp would be over a standard unit...my thinking was if i was already gonna spend 30k whats another 1-1500$?...this is an expensive hobby, and if i had to skimp on things it would not be the Tow Pig, or the A/C.....you dont ever hear guys on here complaining thier TV pulls too darn easy, or the A/C just works too darn good! LOL

Yea, I guess I better get the 15K or the dual 15K to keep my Pugs cool. LOL.

I hear ya...my previous unit, Montana fifth wheel, had 50 amp service. I didn't think the cord was a big deal, but finding 50 amp service was always a pain and I always ended up just using one ac anyways.
